What helps with nausea?

Anonymous
3rd baby but the first time I have nausea. It’s all day, but no vomiting yet. The worst nausea comes from drinking water.

What should I be doing? I have had toast to start my day, but also tried eggs. I drink a lot of water. I feel best when I don’t eat at all but that’s not great for the pregnancy.

For me, seltzer and tea are easier than plain water. Also half a unisom and B-6 each night.

I’m amazed that you’ve made it through two pregnancies without nausea - I’m so jealous.

coke slushies from 7-11, prego-pops. keeping cheerios by the bed for snacking during the night.

Diclegis. Or just do the unisom/B6 combo.

For non-medicated approaches, I got some relief from ginger tea, ginger ale, lemonade, sour candies, and basically never letting my stomach get even close to empty.

For me the key was to never let myself get hungry. I kept Cheerios or crackers on me at all times.
I have a friend who wore anti-nausea pressure point bracelets. Sea Bands, I believe.

Saltines, dill pickles, ginger tea.

Unisom and b6. Ask your OB for dosage. Wish I had started it earlier!

Smelling lemons. Put lemon in the water too.

Op here. I’m actually shocked how different this pregnancy is. I never had a symptom before other than exhaustion and a growing stomach. I have a boy and a girl already. Dh keeps joking it’s twins, which I seriously hope it’s not.

I’m going to look at the b6

Fresh lemonade. Even squeezing the lemons made me feel better and the sugar (make a syrup heating equal parts of water and sugar) settled my stomach. Also whole wheat crackers.

Avoid plain water, or drink it only with food. For whatever reason, really cold water through a straw was more palatable to me. If you’re worried about staying hydrated, eat watermelon, drink broth, tea, popsicles, etc. You don’t need plain water if it makes you that nauseated. I had HG with all three pregnancies, and plain water was the absolute worst. Regular Coke was like the nectar of the gods when I was most nauseated.

Yes to Sea Bands, Diclegis, etc. Eat whatever suits you and don’t worry about what it is.
