| Any recs for cute outfits I can hike in? Going on hiking dates and want to look nice. |
| Anything that makes your butt look good. I usually hike in jeans. |
| Bean boots, best fitting jeans, and a Patagonia fleece. |
|
I love this question because I'm obsessed with cute hiking outfits.
What is your style, and what weight/height are you? Would not recommend jeans for hiking - not comfy and why not rock technical gear if you can afford it? I like Title 9 for cute hiking inspo: https://www.titlenine.com/ |

Get a warm, cute coat, gloves, and hat. I find jeans to be cold and stiff, so I like fleece lined leggings or joggers. Comfortable hiking shoes (go up 1/2 a size) and wool socks. Most of my clothes are black, navy, or olive green, so they all match more or less. Will you need a backpack or sling to carry a water bottle?
Nothing worse than being cold and uncomfortable. You don't want to be thinking about how cold you are and how much your feet hurt. If you're comfortable and warm, your personality will be able to shine through. |
| The PPs who wear jeans - why? It's a sure sign that you're an infrequent hiker. |
| layers and it sounds like you are going on a walk in the woods vs a hike |
Actually better to layer than have a really warm coat (unless it's really cold out or you're going to walk REALLY slow). For a day like today, I'd wear a t-shirt, a baselayer like a long-sleeve Merino shirt, then a shell or light jacket like this: https://www.titlenine.com/p/womens-running-jacket/519749.html |
Why? You are walking. |
this, and you'll be miserable if it rains |

For cute and feminine: You want to cut out bulk. So that means you want to invest in high-quality technical fabrics for layering. Like, merino wool base layer that can fit under a more tight fitting jacket like this: https://www.titlenine.com/p/womens-windbreaker-jacket-crash/520944.html
Wear that over some slim-fitting leggings: https://www.rei.com/product/175847/kuhl-toasty-travrse-leggings-womens Get some cute merino wool socks and pull them up to show them off: https://www.rei.com/product/169489/darn-tough-janis-micro-crew-cushion-socks-womens For shoes, I usually hike in sneakers, but if you're going to be out for a long time, you may want to invest in boots. Stick a warm hat, gloves, and scarf in a cute backpack and you'll be able to handle it all. |
| This is one of the most ridiculous posts on dcum. There is nothing more ridiculous than a person who gets technical gear to go for a short hike. You look like a fool. |
here's REI's explanation https://www.rei.com/learn/expert-advice/how-to-choose-hiking-clothes.html I don't think you should dress like you're ready to conquer the app trail -that looks even more ridiculous |
Jeans don't give you a full range of motion, aren't waterproof, and aren't that breathable, and aren't that warm. |
+1 If you're going on real hikes, sure, invest in the technical gear. If you're going for a walk in the woods, it's ridiculous. |
