Eggs daily: heathy or not

Anonymous
Is eating 1-2 eggs daily heathy or not? I am reading conflicting information. Anyone want to weigh in?

I vote healthy. There are too many nutritional benefits compared with being a low calorie food to worry about the cholesterol.

1-2 every single day, for days on end, is probably not a great idea, due to dietary cholesterol content. But yes, overall eggs are healthy.

Eating a diverse diet is healthy. Mixing it up, making sure you're getting a variety of nutritious food.

Eggs are a superfood. I love eggs and have been eating plenty all my life. I used to eat 3-4 a day during my paleo/keto times. Never had any issues and my bloodwork was perfect. I do not eat them daily anymore but still total about 10 a week and still super healthy.
If you want something non-anecdotal:

In what preparation do you eat them?

Eating multiple eggs per week is correlated with an statistically significant increased risk of breast, colorectal and especially the deadliest form of prostate cancer.

And to the "super healthy" PP ... atherosclerosis. People always think they're the healthiest, until they're not. The fact that you're not keeling over suddenly this week and can still run a couple of miles, for now, doesn't mean you're not building artery plaque at a pace faster than you would without the eggs. A study of 29,000 middle aged people followed for 17 years:

"Each additional 300 mg of dietary cholesterol consumed per day was significantly associated with higher risk of incident cardiovascular disease... and all-cause mortality . **** Each additional half an egg consumed per day was significantly associated with higher risk of cardiovascular disease ****

Ok well that is confusing. Plenty of sources say it doesn’t contribute to high cholesterol and actually lowers it. Not sure which it is

"Sources" or scientific studies?

^ to add, here is one that seems pretty valid. Large sample study over multiple countries and economic groups.

I suppose you still eat Snackwells, too.

I think you only need to worry about it if your cholesterol is high. If it’s normal I think they’re fine.
