"moms who thing they are entitled to a four month maternity leave, and expect their replacement to work a split week when they return, so that they can have four days off in a row. "
??in DC FMLA is four months so they are entitled by law to 4 months. Their schedule when they return is up to their supervisor not their co-workers or the temp replacement. |
So...do you have to be from DC to post here? Just curious... |
You're setting yourself up for the next post to be, "Moms who ask where you need to be from to post on an anonymous thread about annoying moms"...
You know what kind of mom annoys me? The kind that thinks their smart kid or athletic kid had anything to do with them. At all. It's a crap shoot lady. You got lucky. |

Genetics play a pretty well proven role in intelligence and athletic ability. The environment the parents provide fills in the rest. Actually, luck has very little to do with anything. |
"My sister in law did not let her kid have an ice cream cone until he was four. And then we had to break her arm, he ran and hid behind a corner and scarfed it down because he was afraid she would take it!! I also know a mom who give her kids candy non-stop but then freaks out if someone gives them soda, like soda is evil but lollipops aren't. "
This mom poster annoys me. Everyone draws the line somewhere, I suspect you don't give your kids alcohol or something else. People just draw the lines differently which is their decision. I can not understand why some mothers feel compelled to challenge or worse intervene in whatever the other mother has decided. You "had to break her arm" and you felt so passionately that her kid must have soda or ice cream? I have a SIL who doesn't give her kids sugar. I have never felt the need to force a cupcake on them. I don't feel superior that I give my kids cupcakes . I do not feel insecure that her choice not to makes me a worse mother and I must change her ways to redeem myself. I have a no fast food rule. I don't believe human existence or a happy childhood means someone has to taste a Happy Meal. My kids don't miss anything and they don't know what the big M offers. Works for us and its fine if other people want to eat this. I hope I don't encounter moms who want to hold me down while they cram a cheeseburger down my 4 yr olds throat. |
The situation was, her son was sitting there crying while ten other kids enjoyed ice cream, the child's father got him an ice cream cone, the mother had a fit and said she felt he was not old enough yet. After ten minutes of them arguing and the child getting very upset, Mom decided to let him have it. That is when he ran away and hid. This is not the only thing she deprives him of, he also can't "get dirty", drink tap water, watch tv, or read non educational books, Sometimes mom does not know best, especially when the child is an absolute ball of nerves because she harps on him about everything. That is the type of mom I was relating a humorous story about. I don't force all children to have ice cream, however I do feel I need to look out for my nephew who tells me he "hates his mom" |

Most annoying mom:
Moms who resurect old threads by contributing merely a "." |
Moms who know crap about international soccer for 47 months, and then try to come up to speed during the World Cup and are proud of themselves for knowing a few players' names. And who talk about the World Cup as they sit on the sidelines with their Starbucks cups at their kids' soccer games. But they know crap. |
You must always carry your stroller up the stairs, because you seem to have missed the big NO STROLLERS sign on the escalators. |
I don't feel the need to cram a hamburger down your 4yo's throat, I feel envy! I want to find out how you avoid fast food! I know it's not rocket science, but I just hate to cook and especially on the weekends I just give up and my DH convinces me that running by McD's isn't going to kill them once a week. Ugghhh! Maybe that will be my new year's resolution next year ![]() 0 |
I also think that there are pictures of stroller next the the signs that say "disabled persons and seniors". Coupled with the No Strollers on escalators signs I would have to agree with pp. |
Super fertile moms who get pregnant easily and then spend all their days bitching about what a pain in the ass their multiple children are. I always feel like saying...look witch...try birth control if it is such a damn hardship. |
Moms who brag that their child only likes "fancy cheeses" like havarti dill. |
