Will Whittle be around next year?

The education at Whittle was terrible. Parents were complaining pre-covid. Our kids were not getting what they needed before covid hit. We were all apart of all the meetings, zoom calls etc. they knew there were many problems. The parents who are defending the school don’t want their kids going back to public schools in SE, NE etc. I know these parents. I also know a lot of inside information and let me tell you it’s a shit show. We are trying to get out and we are waiting this out because DC is getting a transfer out of the country in a few months.

As far as an update to what’s going on. They are asking parents to pay tuition in advance for this year and next year and the investor will cover rest. There’s also a lot of talk about starting pods.

This is an insane pump and dump. Please tell me no one is paying this crook future tuition! If you do that, you become an unsecured creditor and are in line behind all the other creditors who are owed money over the past few years.

Do not give this man another dime.

I assume not all families can afford to pay in advance. What happens to them?

Sounds like a strategic divorce to try to shield assets from his creditors and future plaintiffs.

Yup. Unfortunately for her she might be filing too late unless they reach a rapid settlement.

But surely they are financially savvy enough to not do it. Buy a stake, maybe. But not make a donation to a failing, for-profit venture.

These families are quite devoted. What can I say? I agree with you but there’s no convincing then otherwise.

I just have a hard time believing that anyone who could accrue or hold that much wealth would be so profligate.

This post seems so fake.

Everyone under contract this year either has already paid or is under a payment plan because they could not afford to pay 100% in one go or even 50% in two payments. If you are on a payment plan, definitionally you don’t have the cash to pay the full balance in one go.

The idea of pre-paying 22-23 tuition right now is absurd and I cannot imagine that they will have a significant number of takers.

Rather than putting more money in, spend your time and money applying out, maybe making some donations here and there where appropriate, networking your way out. Even if the school collapses, you could just re-class for whatever grade you are in now after home-schooling etc for the remainder of this year.
wouldnt need to wait. A million dollar donation would probably get you a mid-year move across the street to Burke no problem.

Not unless you’re in 11th grade. They are over booked in every other grade.

And I would contend that if you offered a million dollar donation they would be able to find you a seat even if they are “over booked”.

Significantly fewer families from whom to request these payments making an implausible scenario even more so.

We're still around. We're just ignoring you and laughing at your posts.

At least you're honest enough to acknowledge you're unhinged! Kudos.

Requires a special kind of person to laugh at tens of millions in debt, delinquent payroll and vendor payments, and a stream of lies from leadership. At least you deserve each other

What seems so fake? It’s true. Some of these families are acting like the school is the second coming of Christ.

Unless you went into it already doubting the longevity of the school or it’s ability to last the year and didn’t want to risk losing money.

If anyone needs a contingency plan should Whittle close, and you don’t think public will work well for your child, you might want to check out Fusion. I work at another private, but some former students who needed a different approach have done well there. I think it’s one to one teaching rather than classroom learning.

What’s so funny about your kid’s teachers not getting paid on time during the holidays?

I used to feel sorry for Whittle parents. Now I firmly believe they deserve everything that's coming their way

There isn’t any physical space for more kids. They are already over capacity as are most private schools right now. Plus they are still in the middle of a construction project. They aren’t MCPS where they put 35 kids in a room with only 30 desks.
