Agree with the bolded. It's way too much attachment, considering they didn't even know William until fairly recently. I get that he's mourning the fact that he has far too little time to really know his father, but they make it seem like he's been in their lives forever. |
I agree with above... but Randall'a wife isn't sahm if I remember she has talked about going to work in the breakfast scenes. |
Maybe I just wasn't nearly as invested in this show during the first couple of episodes, and so didn't pay close attention. I know Kate worked for Kevin, but did they ever really show her "at work"? I don't remember that at all. What did they show her doing for him? |
Speaking of Miguel, can they get a different makeup artist or at least light him differently? When he opens the door to Kevin, he looks like a zombie. When they're sitting at the table, he looks more realistic (although his make up is still really obvious). |
I don't get this either. WHAT is the deal? He looks like he could be in a casket. ![]() |
+1 It makes me want to laugh everytime. |
+1 They've made his skin gray. It's the worst makeup job I've ever seen on an actor. |
It's worse when the light hits his face directly b/c it glows white. They probably should have tried to age him with a beard. |
I just finished watching tonight's episode and cannot stop crying. Really powerful episode. I loved seeing William and Randall play off one another's energy. |
There is no handbook on how attached you can become to someone after a few months. Especially under their circumstances. |
+1. Wow. That was tough. |
Totally believable to me that they could mean that much to each other in a short time. Kevin was searching for this family connection, and so was William. Both men had loving parents that taught them the meaning of quality attachment, which made it possible for them to trust and bond as they did. |
+2. An exceptional hour of television. I'm crying, too. |
I guess I'm the only one whom the episode didn't resonate with at all. I found the whole thing forced and like it was just TRYING to make me cry. When the ducks passed in front of the car I was like OH COME ON. I would have liked better if he went and saw the actual ducks at the peabody. The episode did nothing for me. I do think Sterling Brown is an amazing actor, but the episode did not move me. |
NP. Still crying. So many beautiful moments in that episode. Loved the water fountain scene. |
