Agree with the bolded.  It's way too much attachment, considering they didn't even know William until fairly recently.  I get that he's mourning the fact that he has far too little time to really know his father, but they make it seem like he's been in their lives forever.[/quote]

Totally believable to me that they could mean that much to each other in a short time. Kevin was searching for this family connection, and so was William. Both men had loving parents that taught them the meaning of quality attachment, which made it possible for them to trust and bond as they did.[/quote]
