I didn't like this episode either. I was disappointed that Kevin walked out of the play and also think they are dragging out Jack's death way too long. Ever since they got a contract to do two more seasons it has gotten way too slow. Next week looks pretty bad - I hope the whole episode isn't Randall and his father. It's too much, he didn't even know the man until, what, a couple months ago.
Agree with the bolded. It's way too much attachment, considering they didn't even know William until fairly recently. I get that he's mourning the fact that he has far too little time to really know his father, but they make it seem like he's been in their lives forever.
There is no handbook on how attached you can become to someone after a few months. Especially under their circumstances.
Totally believable to me that they could mean that much to each other in a short time. Kevin was searching for this family connection, and so was William. Both men had loving parents that taught them the meaning of quality attachment, which made it possible for them to trust and bond as they did.
