2029 Girls

Why does everyone want D1? High academic (ivys) don’t give scholarship and the girls who have the academic record to be accepted are far fewer. What’s wrong with D3 or D2?

I’d love to see a breakdown of which commits went public vs private

The Capital 25 & 26 classes, according to that website (don't shoot the messenger if this is not correct), had 62 commits. 50 were private school girls, and 12 were from public schools.

Privates

SSASA 11, Visi 7, Potomac 6, SR 5, BI, DJO, SJC, HC,& GC each with 3, PVI 2, Bullis, Sidwell, SAB, & McDonogh each with 1

Publics

Langley 2, Dominion, Riverside, James Madison, Justice, YT, BF, Robo, McLean, WJ, & Meridian each with 1 a piece.

You think club and high school are competitive? Wait till you get to college. It’s 10x! I would rather have my kid sit the bench at Yale or Stanford with a student loan than at Maryland, JMU or Syracuse.

Yours may not be getting a full ride at that Ivy, but many will be at those power 4 schools. You have to love those new rules with roster limits if your kid is on the right side of that cutoff number, sure is saving a bunch over the next 2...

Coaches appreciate the depth of the team and recognize the contributions of each player. While Capital could potentially have a higher national ranking, they prioritize equal playtime to provide opportunities for all players. This approach may not result in top rankings, but it certainly leads to recruiting success. Capital's focus is on getting all girls recruited, rather than just a few superstars. If you have the opportunity to play for Capital, don't think twice - go for blue or orange!

Stop acting that that is such a unique feature to capital. All of the clubs shift their focus during the recruiting years. The tournaments are no longer championship format and are all showcases. The other clubs may not have an equal playing time policy, but every girl gets minutes, coaches are mindful of when colleges that certain kids are interested in are present etc. The Maryland teams have the depth to use a more equal playing time approach and STILL remain in the top of the rankings without having to justify lower rankings because of equal playing time like capital.
It's okay, they only have a short time left to post their recruiting numbers. Then we'll be told how great the school is in the middle of nowhere and buried in the depths of Division 1 or 3.

The biggest key factors in recruiting success had been:
- the girls' academics
- the girls' ability to be seen and a top-ish team

Great! The 2029 class should do very well then.
You actually have to have both.

-Capital has been the dominant high school club in the immediate DC area for years and no other club is anywhere close
- Capital's most recent recruiting results (e.g., 2025 and 2026) are off the charts good
- There are no expected changes to the leadership, priorities, philosophy etc. over the next several years
- However, the 2027 and 2028 teams may not achieve the same level of recruiting success, though this is unknowable at this point
- So therefore, your talented 2029 daughter should probably just chose some random other DC area club and hope for the best

"Has been" is the most accurate phrase in this statement.

"random other DC area club" is the most inaccurate one.

Fixed it for you:
Looking for another option besides the old school, unchanging politics and monopoly of capital? You now have another choice, which has never before an option in this area. The number one club in the country and its equally successful recruiting coordinator has branched out to the DC area, so you now have a choice.

My daughter’s school did nothing, unless you consider taking pictures of her on signing day to be doing something.

Our Legendary Coach was invested, involved and regularly providing feedback and contacting coaches on my daughter’s behalf to gauge interest so we were targeting schools that had true interest! Coach loves her players and will do anything to help them realize their dream! You still have to have the talent and grades because the competition is insane no matter how well a coach is connected! Equally good players will fall victim to the next player that has better grades because of the academic index. I can’t express this enough how important the grades are to the whole picture even for the top 5/4star players.

How is Yellow Jackets at recruiting? Do they have any teams with girls that are in high school now? They have a good national brand that gets into all the tournaments etc.

How will MDDC recruit players for next year? Have the coaches already determined which girls they want from other teams and they are reaching out to them? Or is open tryouts the best way to make it?
