Well DOJ would need to run a poll to see if they were a "leading candidate." Just look up the "leading candidate immunity" clause in the constitution.

No, what happened was that the investigated the case and didn't find any prosecutable crimes. Trump's AGs spent the next 4 years investigating a whole host of democrats including Clinton, HB, and John Kerry, and also didn't find any prosecutable crimes. This was just a few years ago, it isn't like it was so long ago that your false assertion should stand without challenge.
