What do you consider as weight "maintenance" on the scale?

For you is it give or take 3-5 lbs. or the exact same number on the scale? I track my weight via an app on a nearly daily basis. Looking back at the history for this year, my weight has stayed within a 3 pound range up or down. IMO that means I have maintained my weight for a year. Do you define maintain the same as me or does your range differ?

Three is what I would use too, but I started from a point of morbid obesity, so maybe it differs for super-skinny people. I weigh about 180 now (overweight for my height, but I dropped my BMI from 44 to 29). I can gain 3 pounds from a very salty meal and it's gone in a couple of days. So a 3 pound fluctuation is fine with me. Anything more means my eating habits are bad.

So I guess bottom line is that I'd use both the scale and an awareness of how my eating habits have (or have not) changed recently.

Congratulations on your weight loss! I too was overweight and have been maintaining for nearly three years. 2020 is the first full year that I have not lost weight since I began losing.

I rarely get on the scale. I can judge by how my clothes fit. And by clothes, I mean zip up pants not stretchy yoga pants.

Yes, give or take 3-5lbs is what I use.

If I weigh myself in the morning every day, I'm typically within a very small range, like a pound or two. It was that way for months. Lately I've been having digestive issues and it's more like 3-5 lbs.

I follow the Beck Diet book - she allows a 2 lb maintenance range. Once you hit 3, you need to do an intervention

3 lbs here just based on my observations. I know I tend to retain water after having salty foods and right before my period. Anything more than that and my clothes start getting tight.

I’m small, so for me it’s +- 2 pounds. If I hit +3 I start adjusting my eating.

Three pounds messes with my head because I am right at 137, which pushes me into the 140 realm. 134 to 137 wouldn't be a big deal, but something about going into the next set of numbers is.

+/- 4lbs.

5 lb
I was at 120lb in June, now almost 126lb, I really need to stop indulging on my baked goods

4 pounds for me. I consider myself 148 and see a swing from 146-150 depending mainly on where I am in my cycle. I like that the top is that new tens number because it looks scarier and helps me make small painless adjustments to not stay there!

Also, I should add that I weight myself pretty much daily because I'm active duty and the number matters.
