occasional glass of wine

When did you have wine in your pregnancy? Third pregnancy and cannot remember when I indulged last time.. maybe a glass/week with food at the end of the third tri?

Just finished first tri and still feel like crap so not genuinely thinking about it yet... just curious.

Please save all the NEVER responses.. my ob supported it towards the end of my lat two pregnancy's and i have two healthy children.

With both of my pregnancies, I had 2-3 glasses total in the last half of the third trimester. Doctor had no issue with it, babies are both fine.

I didn't have any. It was a simple thing to give up for a couple of years.

I’ll have to say it ...never.

People are just going to turn this into a bloodbath. I kind of feel like you’re pot stirring because you cite twice in your post the third tri and specify you’re out of your first tri. Occasional glass after first tri is fine but this thread will just turn into a horrible fight within three pages

Well I’m one of those people who didn’t know I was pregnant so drank a decent amount before 6 weeks, when I found out. And then I inadvertently had a drink at about 10 weeks (ordered a virgin drink and got something with alcohol by mistake). Then nothing until 2nd trimester, at which point I would have a half glass of wine or half a beer occasionally. Maybe a couple times a month? By my third trimester I didn’t feel like drinking to be honest.

Anyway, point is: I wasn’t super careful and my kid has no issues. I’d be more careful than I was (had I known, I would not have had anything 1st trimester), but I am I phased by pregnant women drinking occasionally. And btw, I told my OB about all of this and she waved it off. It’s common for women to drink before they know they are pregnant and most docs are not worried about a drink here and there. And they’ve seen it all.

I had an occasional small glass (like for a birthday or a special occasion)...I normally have one a day but just didn’t feel like it. Then I got gestational diabetes, which was well managed by diet but wine sent it over too much.

Beginning to middle of third tri was when I could stomach the smell again. I think I had half a glass on Valentine’s Day and then maybe another half a glass when my husband cooked a really good steak. I also found out I was pregnant after a two week trip to Ireland. Turns out I was pregnant the whole trip (and drank my fair share of pints), but only had suspicions on the last night when I couldn’t handle a seafood pie. My friend is an OB and she says it’s really common and okay, as long as you stop when you find out you’re pregnant!

Three successful pregnancies. Had half a glass once a week in the third trimester. I think with the second and third pregnancies I may have even had half a glass occasionally in the second trimester. All my kids seem fine.

2 awesome pregnancies... I just had a few glasses.

I think the key is not getting buzzed. Normally that’s 1 glass that’s fine. At an all day bachelorette party that was 2 glasses for me and that’s the most I had in a row.

I will say that I’m likely an alcoholic. I have a problem with alcohol. I didn’t want 1 glass, I wanted 3 and I wanted a buzz. So it was easier to not drink than to battle that. 1 glass just makes me feel tired and shitty when I’m pregnant. I actually got more enjoyment out of a Coke can

The smell made me sick both times. I did have a glass at my last dinner out before my second and it gave me horrific heartburn. Not worth it to me personally.

I had one and my daughter has a learning disability. It may be coincidence but its something I regret and will never do in any future pregnancy
