| Does this apply to sports? |
|
Of course. Why would it not?
I imagine the high school winter season will be canceled in short order. |
| And is it between Saturday and Sunday, or between Sunday and Monday? (Like will things already started play out or get cancelled? I'm mostly looking at the swim meets this weekend.) |
| Starts Sunday night |
And swim practices.... |
| Will reccenters close? I assume swimming is done. |
| I understand the that having a simple rule (no more than 25 may gather together) makes it easier to understand and enforce, but 30 people in my mother-in-law's 2 bedroom house is different from having 45 people in a 100,000 square foot ice rink, or a 50,000 square foot basketball gym. Percentage limitations based on capacity make more sense to me. |
| Bummer. But I don't see how any sport continues unless GREATLY modified. Our U14 team players (and not all coaches and no spectators included) is at or about 25 people right there. |
| You can have way more than 25 people at a bar, indoor restaurant, daycare (or church?) but not more than 25 people at a sports event? Makes no sense |

How dare you red Trumpers question your elected officials. They are far wiser than the rest of the country. Let's see, the DC area was right behind NY in shutting down and last to open up and the magical masks are worn everywhere I go around the beltway and yet still the numbers go up. That's weird how a coronavirus will continue to spread even with our restrictions, hand washing and magical masks.
The all powerful Fauci continues to say we should be outside and in big spaces, like sports, and yet our elected officials continue to want to force everyone inside. Wake up people. |
Take your tin hat someplace else. The sane people are discussing . . . |
What are you prattling on about now? |
Problem is how they cluster in those spaces. Basketball gym may be huge, but those 10 players on the court aren't safe, nor their coaches and teammates on the sidelines. In some ways swim now feels safer with news out that perhaps humidity lowers the likelihood of transmission in addition to all the social distancing measures that USA Swimming has put in place, but my son is expecting to hear that his season is over. |
I really can't stand how everone gets on here talking about how their activity is safe and they should get to carry on if everyone else would just stop doing their activities. |
| If health club gyms are allowed to stay open for us adults, i don't understand why community pools, Rec centers will be shuttered preventing kids from in engaging in any sort of exercise. |
