Swimmer parents are literally the WORST. 😅 |
| As a parent that has a child in swimming and another indoor sport that I will leave anonymous right now, I can say the swim precautions are over the top compared to the other indoor sport. So yes I believe it is safe. |
| Swim is safer than most other indoor sports. |
I concur. They are never out of a mask at our practice, 3 per lane and never together in the pool. This is going to suck. Our kids get nothing and people can go out to restaurants??????? |
I mean they are never out of a mask on deck at practice
|
|
I have this question too. And we wear masks at practices, 99% of the time.

| Does swimming have mandatory temp check at the door? Mine sport does. As well as masks and no spectators. But you don’t see whining “it’s not fair”! You swimming parents really are the worst. |
My. Not mine. |
Yes to temp checks. Not sure what makes swim parents worse than the rest. Take a gander at the soccer forum sometime. |
My teen played basketball inside without a mask every weekend for months this summer and fall. Four teams on two courts all day Saturday and Sunday. Not a single case of covid. |
Yes to temp checks, yes to masks when not in the (chlorinated) water, yes to no spectators (and competitions once a month for most teams). And I do indeed see people involved in many other sports also questioning the arbitrary guidelines. I think the swimming parents get frustrated because there are two actual scientific studies that said swimming was a generally safe activity during covid. |
Same with our indoor sport. |
My indoor sport has a similar study but I’m dealing instead of whining. |
