Obama a no-show at the Opening Ceremony?

Did Obama snub the Olympics by not showing up at the Olympic Opening Ceremony? Sending the Bidens seems like a cop out. Is Obama taking it personally and is still bitter over not getting Chicago as a host city for 2016?
If my memory serves me correctly, the past few presidents have attended. |

Maybe he didn't want to be criticized agsin by the right for wasting time on the Olympics. This is what many conservatives were saying about his attempt to get the Olympics to come to the U.S.:

He gets advice from Stewart & Colbert, suggesting things for him to do that will elicit good responses from Beck & Limbaugh for them to riff on. |

well that just sounds like Obama - he is just the type to hold a grudge. jeez people he simply made a decision to not go and Vancouver was happy not to have to deal with extra security.

No, of course not. My point is that conservatives are going to criticize him for participating and criticize him for not participating, and that is disingenuous. |
