Obama a no-show at the Opening Ceremony?

"Obama did that because he is such a ... ."

"Bush did the same thing."

"You liberals always have to bring up Bush."

etc, etc.

Let's call that "argument A", and whenever Obama does something that raises objections (i.e., whenever he does anything), just say "I initiate argument A." and the rest of us can consider the whole argument to have occurred. Which of our recurring patterns would you nominate as argument B?

Argument B: Obama is anti 'torture' and closing Guantanamo, what a stand-up guy compared to the last guy
: OK, but the rate of smoking suspects from the air with unmanned drones rather than capture/interrogate has sky-rocketed under him (see weekend Post)
: Yes, but that's a justified act of war; CIA or military interrogating people denies them their US civilian court rights and holding people in Guantanamo makes us unpopular!
: Yes, but most terrorists I presume would choose enhanced interrogation over vaporization....

It's just like a liberal to talk about Bush when a question is raised about Obama. The fact is that Obama has a thin skin. He was blown off by the Olympics and now he is returning the favor. If he had been tested during the campaign (like Hillary), it would have ben apparent.

He told you that, did he?

The fact is, Obama could not do anything that would satisfy you.
But, I do know for CERTAIN that had he gone you and others like you would be on here bitching and howling about how there are other priorities, terrorism, health care reform, people out of jobs, etc., etc. and that he should not be on some lightweight olympic tour. You know you would.

Well if Bush is not a reasonable standard against which to judge other presidents, then I guess you shouldn't have voted for him. You made him the most recent example of your Best and Brightest. So if that thought bothers you, maybe it is you who have the thin skin. Best. And. Brightest.... Bush.
