trump caravan in MoCo

Apparently there is going to be a Trump car caravan in MoCo on Saturday--location undisclosed. Be safe out there!

10 bucks says they’re too chickensh#t to roll thru PG or DC.

Oh wow! Someone please post details. I would love to do this. The car rallies all over the country look like a lot of fun.

That’ll be useful. Yesterday I counted 20 Biden signs on the way to my daughter’s soccer practice in Silver Spring, 1 mile. Not a single Trump sign.

But, if it makes them feel better about being sociopaths, I guess it’s better than them shooting stuff.

They are at least 40% of MoCo. Not an insignificant number, imho.

Where the heck do you get 40%? Trump won 19% of the vote in MoCo in 2016. This is the most anti-Trump jurisdiction you can find. The whole caravan is just useless trolling the libs. Please, do spend your resources campaigning for Trump in Montgomery County.

I'd wager it will be even lower in 2020.

DC, Baltimore, Brooklyn...there are plenty that are even more anti.

Definitely. We’ll see if he cracks Robin Ficker’s 15%.
Montgomery County and Maryland are not necessarily the most left wing places (except for random pockets of socialists), but they are decidedly the most anti-Trump demographic. The DC metro area is very much pro-establishment, anti-populist left or right, very much in favor of predictable government as usual (for better or for worse) and Polite Society. Nobody here wants to blow up the government, because they probably work for the government. It’s the swamp that Trump supporters love to hate. Joe Biden’s back to normalcy campaign - MoCo is just eating that up. I could see him winning upwards of 80% here.

Yes, definitely by percent D versus R, as most large cities tend to run upwards of 85 or even 90% D in presidential elections these days. Culturally, though, Montgomery County is just so iconically anti Trump. For both good and bad reasons (mostly good). Bethesda wine moms, federal employees, Takoma Park do-gooders, and a very large foreign-born population in Gaithersburg and Germantown form a massive anti-Trump coalition. The downcounty Beltway is the Rachel Maddow, NPR, Washington Post hivemind. Upcounty Republicans are still a minority and they just don’t have the raw numbers to match to begin with. Everyone else - these are solidly pink hat Resistance people who, even if well off enough to not suffer the real consequences of Trump’s incompetence, they hate him because he’s rude.

LOL! This is sure to turn MoCo red.

Does anyone know the route yet? I bought a box of nails and I’d like to make sure I accidentally drop them all over the road right before the trumpets roll through!

By accident, of course.

I’m actually sort of not surprised.
This may go in the local politics section, but Fox News has given a lot of attention to MoCo in the last year, and I think Laura Ingraham lives some of the time in Gaithersburg. Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson have been fixated on Marc Elrich over the anti-ICE executive order and the whole Thin Blue Line controversy and have devoted multiple segments to the leftist bogeyman Elrich. So I could imagine every Fox News watcher from Fredneck County will be following this.

My guess is that this caravan gets a lot of outsiders from Frederick, the panhandle of MD, rural parts of Howard County, etc

Basically it will be a bunch of obnoxious outsiders trying to disrupt MoCo residents trying to do their weekend errands.
