Fairfax County: Polling place report

Anonymous
I planned to go vote at the McLean Gov't Center yesterday. I showed up around 4pm and a guy that had just voted told me he waited 1 hour and 15 minutes. I could not wait that long yesterday so I left.

Let's help each other out - if you are voting early in Fairfax Co. can you report where and how long it took, were lines long when you left. I plan to go back at 1pm today when the polls open - either McLean or the location in Pimmit Hills.

Thanks OP! I am planning to go to the Balls Hill location in McLean as well. My master plan is to go on Monday as it’s a busy day for everyone, let’s see how that works out. I will update this thread about the wait time.

Fridays are usually heavy demand. Tues/Wed/Thurs are usually lighter. If going on Sat, I'd recommend later in the dsy, like 4:00, if not first thing in the morning. And next week/end will probably be better than this week/end (after the pent up drmand wains).

Two hours at the Centreville Library on a weekday after lunch.

Polling locations should be divided by party. I was at the Fairfax Govt Center on Wednesday and there were lots of people in line who were obviously trumpets. Their presence alone could’ve been intimidating to POC or others afraid of being around such people. They really need to make voting safer, not create situations where people may literally be standing right next to racists and white supremacists. That’s insane to expect people to be willing to face that kind of danger to vote.

if you allow that, Texas would have a single location for democrats in the middle of a desert

I'd be OK with that. California could use Alcatraz for the dems as well.

I went to Tysons-Pimmet today. Got there about 12:30. Number 26 in line. I was out at 1:47. Roughly 2 minutes per voter.

They need more people. I volunteered, never heard a word back.

Yes, dumb idea..

If you are afraid to stand in line next to a Trump voter in Fairfax, then you have problems....

Go to the Mclean location as it’s next to the police station!

Anyways, what is wrong with you? I’m voting for Trump and I’m a 5’3” 62 year old woman. Whooo, I’m so scary.

Standing in line next to people who vote differently than you is dangerous?

Voted at TJ Library Friday, got there at 3PM, was done at 4. Line was shorter when I left than when I got there.
