Anyone else too poor for instagram?

I dont have a giant house to show off and my 1000 sqft place barely has room to exercise in for videos. I dont have big vacations to show off to 1000s of followers. Anyone else get the feeling ig obsessed people are just narcissistic types?

I'm too old for Instagram -- I'd rather read words and have some kind of 'conversation' with you than see your lunch.

That exists on Instagram. I have some great conversations with people who have shared interests with me.

I am poor. I share my art. There are nice communities of artists and designers on there. I don’t follow vapid, materialistic people.

Huh? IG is basically for family to show each other pics of kids and family events. You are compelled to use it differently I suppose.

My instagram is private to friends only and is mostly things i cooked and my kids and pics of my garden. So are many on my feed.

I work in social media marketing. Most of its fake, and your follower count/lifestyle pics have very little to do with how much money you make.

Some of the most profitable people I’ve worked with were ugly, never showed pics of their lifestyle, and had terrible quality pics/videos. Meanwhile there are accounts with 1 million+ followers who can’t even pull in $25k a year.

You optimize the machine for the individual, not the individual for the machine.

??? What a weird thought. I live in a tiny house but I'm not ashamed of it. It's a very cute, well-decorated house.
But I'm not on Instagram. Social media baffles me.

I'm not using IG to build an influencer business, so I don't care. My account is private, I don't accept followers I don't know, I only follow friends, family, some parenting accounts, and a few strangers with similar interests/values.

I live in a 1000 sq ft apartment, the only "exercise" photos I post are screenshots of whatever I was listening to on my run, and I don't post vacation photos at all because that's not what vacation is about for me.
