Hogan has no path to viability as a republican or a democrat. Perhaps one day he could run as an independent, but his pro-life stance is out of touch with America.

Not really.

You’re right, the republicans are not pro life, but pro-death as spoken by those three brave women last night on stage.

It makes me a little mad - ok a lot mad actually - at the way he was just pushed out of the running by the big donors and party insiders. It was shameful the way he was treated. I really have a lot of anger over it that I haven’t processed. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, but last night reignited my rage over how President Biden has been treated the last month.

And I’m not goin to lie, there’s a cynical bitter streak inside me that would be highly amused and perhaps even a little satisfied to see Trump win, as a fitting punishment for what the party insiders and big donors did to Joe.

Stop throwing a temper tantrum at your big, old ass. Grow the fucck up. Stop whining. We don’t want to hear your silly, nananana

You do know that many of us aren’t voting this year, right? We have told you this over and over.

Sick of hearing about people not voting. Grow up and get responsible or get out off this board and zip it. Shame on you.

You’re not the boss of anyone, Sis. We’re all adults here so can the “I’m in charge act” ok? People like you are exactly why people like me are no longer feeling obligated to help elect the people you like. Because you yourself aren’t very likable.
What are you, fourteen? If you’re an adult, start acting like an adult.

Why? They aren't her voters. They are just cutting off their noses to spite their faces. If they want Trump, then they will be deported to the rubble that is Gaza. Good luck to them.

They are more than likely citizens of the USA and won’t be deported anywhere.

How will Trump's brownshirts distinguish between people who can be here and people who can't?

His convention is giving me hope and makes me feel a little less sad. The Olympics are over.
The past month has just been amazing with all of the remarkable sportsmanship and stories coming out of the Olympics and now the DMC just beaming Hope from ear to ear. Some of my relatives are into the Doom and gloom with the RNC but actually really liked him and are slowly starting to see the light... . Given Trump has been incoherent even more so the past couple of weeks than he usually is

Okay, but think about two years from now when we are well into Trump's second term. Do you really want to be there? Sometimes you have to vote for the party you want or frankly, the lesser of two evils. I am terrified of Trump and his puppeteers getting back in power. That's all that really matters. We need to move on from this crazy era!

Because I’m not a crazy person who lives and dies by politics, as so many here do, I think I’ll manage just fine. I survived a Trump presidency just fine before, and I’ll survive another one. You will too. But I will freely admit the thought of hearing so many who just up and turned their backs on President Biden screeching and screaming at another Trump term does make me get a little evil smile. Because that will be such poetic justice for those people. I’m not sure what I’m going to do on Election Day. I won’t vote for Trump, certainly not. But I’m pretty upset at Democratic Party leadership and big donors. If they want to win, they might just have to do it without me.

This is just politics. I have more important things in my life. You should too.

You really don’t get it. You’re more focused on Biden being replaced than ensuring Trump is never re-elected?!? Biden is OLD. The man had a good run. He’s an incredible, selfless public servant and he did what was right-stepped aside for the good of the country. To preserve our democracy and to do whatever it will take to prevent a fascist dictator from ever stepping foot in the Oval Office again. People died to protect this democracy and you’re just willing to hand it over to orange man to unravel it all? You don’t deserve to live in this country if you’re not willing to check a little box to ensure that well all still have a right to vote, to choose our elected leaders without fear of retribution or an angry mob sent to overthrow elections. Perhaps you’d be better off under Putin.

Anonymous wrote:As if free abortions, free vasectomies, and people walking around dressed as the abortion pill weren't crazy enough, now at the DNC convention they have "Gender neutral Muslim Prayer rooms." Someone needs to explain how this works.

Gender neutral doesn't just mean non-binary. It means men and women can use it. IOW, If you're a guy and need to pray, you can go in there and pray. If you're a lady and want to pray, you can. If you're non-binary and want to pray, you can. What the hell is so crazy about this?

Also, just because there are prayer rugs there doesn't mean that only Muslims can pray there. Most other mainstream faiths don't require prayer rugs, so it's a thoughtful gesture to make them available.

I know. Those MAGAs are so ignorant and reactive. They want to post the Ten Commandments and allow prayer in schools, but God’ forbid people who practice another religion should have a place to do it.

Do they have any clue about the tenets that our nation was founded upon. Here is a hint: , it was not freedom to own guns!!!!!

I know it's the D list presently, but the DNC seems a little incoherent.

It seems tedious. Like people on the east coast are going to need to stay up until the wee hours to see the Obamas and in the meantime it's all desultory and boring garbage.

Not impressed with the convention so far

It's what politicians do.

No, he actually is universally loved by most people — in the old days, even the republicans liked him a lot. He’s a likeable guy. But that doesn’t mean he’s the right person for the job at this moment. That’s not hard to understand if you’re not a narcissist. It’s Trump and his kind that think you must be rude or die all the time or it’s a major betrayal.

DP. It was extremely narcissistic of him to insist he was running up until he had to be forced out. What an ego.

Do you know he was forced out and the whole thing wasn't actually planned?

+1.
Perfectly orchestrated, chef's kiss.

Now we know this is just another lie because Trump spoke to a janitor there who told him that he had never seen such a miniscule crowd. Probably 75-80 people total!

OMG. LOL. Trump is an idiot.

Hope tonights better

I’m hearing “cringy” all over tik tok. Of course, nothing else, just “cringy”. Would you care to elaborate on what made it “cringy”?

I watched and found nothing cringy at all. Maybe it's just a talking point republicans were prepared to blast on social media hoping they could mislead folks who didn't watch?

What's cringy about the married couple talking about their devastation having a miscarriage and then the bleeding wife not being given any medical care due to Trump's policies and judges. I appreciated a man (just like Tim Walz did re: IVF) speaking about how reproductive freedom for women is a man's issue too and will impact men. What's cringey about a young woman explaining how current abortion laws in some states wouldn't have allowed her to get an abortion despite incest when she was raped at 12: "how is it a beautiful thing for a child to give birth to her father's child?"

What was cringy about Warnock's oratory? Or Biden's forceful and emotional speech? Or Jasmine Crockett? Or HRC?

Perhaps they didn't like Harris being humanized by people who've known her for decades? Or Biden being praised by his wife and only surviving daughter?

It appears that some republicans are so used to a diet of cynicism and negativity that genuine joy and hope and unity causes them to cringe. I feel fortunate that I don't feel that way. Several times last night I had to rub tears from my eye or felt genuine happiness and I'm grateful for it.

YES. When Biden talked about Charlottesville—& Trump’s support of his NeoNazi fans—felt very important and validating for those of us who see this and are horrified.

I remember reading about how members of a synagogue were at Sabbath services as they marched down the street and were afraid to go leave. That is not an America I want to live in.

Yes holding campaign rallies in Wisconsin is normal.🙂

This arena is where the RNC just was and she’s going to fill it.
