Huge political misstep. He should never have apologized and stuck to his original instinct which was to stand his ground on “illegal.” He looks weak and worse, it can be spun as “apologizing to a murderer.” Not worth placating the far left in his party on an issue many people are declaring their number one for this race. Dumb. |
I learned about issue that from here. No, no apologies please. He doesn’t have to do fhd next time. No word mincing. Once you say it is done. Next time. Lawyers and language academy panels can go away. |
There is nothing wrong with the word illegal. -Hispanic, female mid 40s. |
I am surprised no advisor-lawyers said “He was not illegal then, but once the system takes its course, it is likely that eventually he will be proven to be illegal or unlawful. It depends on the point of time in which you were characterizing this individual.” |
I actually don't think the party showed weakness But yes, progressives live to kneecap Dems while ignoring Rs ushering a clownish totalitarian state |
Biden showed weakness. Because he is weak. If your daughter was murdered by an illegal alien, and the president of the United States got her name wrong and then apologized to her murderer, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem with it. |
I guess Rs feel like they finally found their in for criticizing the speech, eh? Biden wasn't doddering so you tried too energetic and angry - but when that didn't really stick, you're trying this. Well, maybe try running a candidate who isn't a rapist taking away all our rights and see if that makes for a stickier campaign. |

"Trying this." LOL. No, we are criticizing him for apologizing to a murderer instead of apologizing to Laken Riley's family. |
Calling an illegal immigrant an 'undocumented worker' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'. |
Exactly. People love to point to polls rather than results. Polls don't vote, polls don't give money. Voters vote, voters give money. |
Yes, I hear you. It's a terrible story. There's no other way to see it. Terrible. I see the play, too - appeal to suburban moms by showing that Dems allow an environment where your daughter can be murdered by a man who shouldn't have even been here. I could be wrong - I often am - but I feel like you lose some of the power of this, when you've also taken away reproductive rights. I feel like you're better off with a different tack. If I were you, I think I'd go for "why are billions going overseas to conflicts that don't even involve us when here at home we aren't even getting as many Doritos in a bag as we used to," but the last thing I'm gonna do is advise Republicans. My real advice would be to ditch Trump for literally ANYONE else. But, again, you've made your bed. Maybe he won't even sh** it this time. |
