No details about precisely WHEN he reported hitting a "deer"? https://rapidcityjournal.com/news/local/dps-attorney-general-reported-hitting-a-deer-but-mans-body-discovered-the-next-morning/article_d30c1f03-6e69-577d-9b0c-08106a963b60.html |
Oh no!
My sister hit and killed someone years ago. It was awful and really shook her for a long time. |
This is not the first time someone hit a person and claimed they knew they hit "a deer."
At this point, I believe he knew he hit a person, but just created the usual story about hitting a deer. |
He was at a bar and grill for a GOP event.
Didn't stop. Didn't report anything. Somehow didn't know the difference between a man and a deer (hint, a deer causes A LOT more damage to a vehicle) |
I hope it is not the case that they found the man's body entangled in the car the next day. That has also happened before.
And it usually involves a person driving drunk. |
You just said what everyone is thinking. How awful for the victim and his family. |
I haven’t hit either, but it just seems like you would see a person flying over your hood. A person doesn’t look like a deer. Just because the GOP is so monumentally horrible lately, I would totally believe that he hit the person, knew it and lied. |
He knew he was drunk. This was a "managed" response on his part. Just my opinion. |
He knew what he did. So does God. |
+1. He was drunk and then reported it as a “deer” after he sobered up. |
Literally sounds like an episode from the Kevin Costner show "Yellowstone". His son in the show is the Montana attorney general. |
That’s awful. Awful. |
The state has already confirmed that the body was discovered Sunday morning out near the crash site. The body was not entangled in the car. This article by a local news team has more info than most of the major sources which seem to be basing their articles on a wire posting. https://www.keloland.com/news/local-news/family-identifies-fatal-crash-victim-involving-sd-ag-questions-why-it-took-so-long-to-identify-body/ |
This is not true. My spouse hit a deer a few years ago. Other than some cosmetic damage to the bumper, nothing. It depends on the car, the size of the deer, the speed at which you are traveling, where it hits, etc. In other words - lots of variables. And it is quite possible that this happened as he said it did. It is also quite possible that the victim was intoxicated. |
That article isn't the best writing, but this jumped out at me: "On Monday, the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Ravnsborg reported hitting a deer with his 2011 Ford Taurus to the Hyde County Sheriff’s Office after the crash at 10:30 p.m. Saturday." I find it incredibly strange that you'd call up the Sheriff's Office and tell them you hit a deer. |
