And college coahes will ignore you because you're a grade older playing on a grade down team. |
They said they won't. College coaches evaluate players based on their performance, development, and potential—not the exact age grouping of their club team. https://www.eastsidefc.org/agegroups |
But everyone knows that they will. |
IF you really think grade is the thing to best make recruiting work, they should go full GY. That's would be the MOST optimal for college coaches. And if a kid can't compete with holdbacks, they're probably not college recruit material anyway. BUT that's not what youth soccer wants, so coaches understand there will ALWAYS be misaligned players. Coaches who cast off players who might be misaligned do so at their own loss. |
Nice judgemental attack on someone nice enough to present their situation and respond to your question. That's a clown move on your part. Nacho kid, nacho problem. |
No, you are the one who made up the lie. On an anon forum you stand no chance of convincing someone of something that appears very incorrect without any proof. So nobody has fallen for it. |
Obviously you dont want to accept reality. Playing on a grade down team sets players up for being held back when they get older so grade and level in club are aligned. |
Nobody wants 36 month older players on their team. Sorry GY is not going to happen. |

Typical fear-mongering from this poster. If you're concerned, talk to your club and coach and college coaches at places you're interested in for your kid. It's a fair question, but those people will guide you better than extreme anonymous posters. |
Then stop advocating for grade. You're going to cause your worst nightmare. |
Actually the age change being a thing was on the forums way before most coaches knew anything about it. |
That's why it's a fair question. But its the people who are in the true know who can answer this question, instead of people who *think* they know all. |

Us club and USYS are working towards a merger and yes I’ve heard college showcases would no longer affect rankings for ECNL and will allow players to play with their school grade only Juniors/Seniors. You also have to be age eligible for either U19 or U18.
ECNL admin team is discussing this and will make decisions shortly could possibly be tabled until 27/28 season. But it’s coming. |
More "rumors". Doesn't mean much. What do think will happen if USYS joins ECNL? They're going to take the top teams and everyone else will be either B or maybe even C teams. Not much benifit for USYS unless you consider going away a positive. Might make sense on the boys side. Doesn't make sense on the girls side. |
