| I think everyone should be watching. Elrich will significantly change the police force in the next budget cycle. |
| I did not watch. What was discussed? |
I think that's awesome. It is time for a change. |
Why? |
| For so many reasons, his re-election date can not come soon enough. Bring back Ike. |
Elrich doesn't take you seriously. I know people that are close to him. He gets bombarded with comments from constituents who want to open businesses and who respect law enforcement and don't want to defund the police, and he just laughs them off. Says they are trolls who don't live here and are sent after him by Fox News. He only listens to leftist activists who fund his super pac and got him into office. He thinks the whole county is ideologically like Takoma Park. |
No worries, I don’t take him seriously either. |
| Overall, MCPD is quite professional. The officer-involved shootings are always turned over to an indepedent prosecutor outside the county, and they wear bodycams. That's way ahead of many police departments. |
It’s time to fire every last one of them. |
Yes. Objectively speaking, they are one of the higher performing police departments in the nation. However, there are some improvements to be made. But Elrich's hatred of his police force is palpable. If he can't learn to bring different stakeholders together in a reasonable way, his "reform" will fail. He needs to recognize the strengths of his department to move forward with any improvements. Otherwise, I see a massive exodus of the good officers, leaving the mediocre (and bad) ones behind. Who does that benefit? |
|
Just wait until your house is broken into and your car is stolen and the county sends over a mental health specialist to make sure you and ok and a diversity coordinated to tell you that the people who stole your car need it more then you, do it’s ok.
Also your taxes just went up another 3% |
Then why did the FOP endorse him? Elrich is actually getting pushback from the left over the police union endorsement. There are people yelling loudly in his ear to defund the police. |
I promise they won't endorse him if he runs again. |
I don't even know if he will run again to be honest. People close to him say he hates the job. Plus he'll be 74. He should retire. This is not a job for an obese 74 year old (neither is the presidency, but that's neither here nor there). |
Duncan Lemp would strongly disagree with you, oh wait, nevermind, he can't he is dead. Also MoCo is one of the worst offenders in the nation for egregious no knock raids for non violent and in some cases trivial 'crimes'. Get off that blue jock Boomer, it is a bad look... |
