Did anyone in MoCo watch the police reform task force meeting on Monday?

Also your taxes just went up another 3%

Fine with me. It means the police won’t be murdering the first POC they see when responding to my 911 call.

Duncan Lemp would strongly disagree with you, oh wait, nevermind, he can't he is dead. Also MoCo is one of the worst offenders in the nation for egregious no knock raids for non violent and in some cases trivial 'crimes'. Get off that blue jock Boomer, it is a bad look...

Data or you are just trolling.

MCPD responded to 211,000 calls last year and used force 553 times. Your odds of being safe with police are extremely high. While impact is disproportionate by race (and needs to be fixed), the true chance of being harmed by police is almost nil.

Yes. Objectively speaking, they are one of the higher performing police departments in the nation. However, there are some improvements to be made. But Elrich's hatred of his police force is palpable. If he can't learn to bring different stakeholders together in a reasonable way, his "reform" will fail. He needs to recognize the strengths of his department to move forward with any improvements. Otherwise, I see a massive exodus of the good officers, leaving the mediocre (and bad) ones behind. Who does that benefit?

Then why did the FOP endorse him?
Elrich is actually getting pushback from the left over the police union endorsement. There are people yelling loudly in his ear to defund the police.

I promise they won't endorse him if he runs again.

I don't even know if he will run again to be honest. People close to him say he hates the job. Plus he'll be 74. He should retire. This is not a job for an obese 74 year old (neither is the presidency, but that's neither here nor there).

The presidency definitely isn’t a job for a senile 77 year old

I have neither the time nor the inclination to do the intellectual heavy lifting for a mental midget such as yourself. This is the problem with people today of which you are a shining example. Intellectually lacking and lazy which is why America is circling the drain. It took me 60 seconds to find this on Google genius:

https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/police-fire/montgomery-ranks-third-highest-in-state-in-number-of-swat-deployments-over-past-year/

There was also a study a few years back that they were among the highest in the nation, again, not looking it up for you... Also the bodycam footage from the Duncan Lemp assassination magically disappeared. Nearly everyone I know right & left can get behind police reform and if BLM simply recalibrated their message to say that 'yes we understand police are out of control w/ everyone but ESPECIALLY with black people" they would get a lot more support. Police involved shootings affect whites & latinos as much as blacks if you actually read, you know, FACTS which in this world of over emotional adult children nobody does today.

So tl;dr- MoCo has one of the highest no knock raid deployments for trivial crimes in the nation. They create absurd levels of danger and need to be abolished. This is not Nazi Germany with the 3am assault by the SS crashing through your door to carry you away in the middle of the night.

Lord, so much wrong with what you've posted. SWAT deployments are not synonymous with no-knock warrants, which are a special type of search warrant that requires additional judicial review before execution. There is no specific mention of no-knock warrants in that article.

Duncan Lemp evidence hasn't disappeared. Howard County hasn't authorized its release yet.

Try again.

He was a white nationalist gun nutter. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Should be happening more often.

Was there any mention on how we get 13% of the population to stop committing 50% of all violent crime? Any "discussion" that ignores the facts is really just political grandstanding.

That's a larger societal issue and not a policing issue. That needs to be addressed by reducing systemic racism, addressing substance abuse as a health issue rather than a criminal issue, and providing adequate mental health services -- which have never existed since the de-institutionalization of the mentally ill in the 80s. And yes, people are working on that. That's why Montgomery County has the lowest recidivism rate in the DMV region.

You heard that from CNN right? We really need a 'divorce' you people live in a carefully curated alternate reality free from facts. He was not even CLOSE to that. But any white guy w/ a gun is a 'white nationalist' today by leftist lunatic standards.

It reminds me so much of people who think any black guy w/ a gun is a dangerous thug that needs to be killed by the cops. You realize you are the thing you hate, in reverse, right? No, that would require self-awareness which NPC Robots do not have. Sorry, my bad.

You boogaloo sympathizers need to calm down and wait for the investigation to be completed.
