I'm expecting my first and starting a registry and getting things for the baby. I have ideas of what I want but would love feedback about if the items are worth it?
Thoughts on Pampers Pure Diapers? Thoughts on the new Graco Pack n Play? Thoughts on a baby Bjorn bouncer? Is it worth it or should we get a cheaper Fisher Price bouncer. UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system? Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine? Anyone else paying more for GreenGuardGold Certified nursery furniture? |

Thoughts on Pampers Pure Diapers? - Ehh I liked Luvs just fine.
Thoughts on the new Graco Pack n Play?- we only used ours for travel sleep. Don't think that the baby will actually play in one. Thoughts on a baby Bjorn bouncer? Is it worth it or should we get a cheaper Fisher Price bouncer.- My kids preferred swings, but I knew babies that loved these. I had a regular bouncer in my bathroom so that I could have a place for baby while I got dressed and did my hair. UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system?- Love Uppababy. I'm a big fan of fancy strollers. Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine?- I wanted a Keekaroo but just used a regular changing pad. I heard that the Keekaroo is cold in the winter and people put blankets on it. Anyone else paying more for GreenGuardGold Certified nursery furniture?- No. I had metal cribs and antique dressers. |

The only thing worth extra money imo is a stroller, although what you want and need will vary depending on what you use it for. We have dogs and used it almost daily, needed a good sun shade, easy to push, fold easily in the car.
Everything else on your list, doesnt have to be certain brands. |

Thoughts on Pampers Pure Diapers? None. Used cloth, then switched to Target brand when DS went to daycare at 19 months.
Thoughts on the new Graco Pack n Play? Ours was from 2014 (cousin gave me her's), and we used the heck out of it. Never even bought a crib. Did get a better mattress. Thoughts on a baby Bjorn bouncer? Is it worth it or should we get a cheaper Fisher Price bouncer. Was gifted a FP bouncer. Fine. Nice place to put baby when we ate those first few months. UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system? None, because I'm anti travel systems. Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine? Cheap with a cover is fine. Anyone else paying more for GreenGuardGold Certified nursery furniture? Nope. Didn't buy any nursery furniture, but I wouldn't pay extra for certified. |

Thoughts on a baby Bjorn bouncer? Is it worth it or should we get a cheaper Fisher Price bouncer. Maybe wait to get a bouncer. We didn't really use it with my first and didn't use it (or a swing) at all with my second. I will say that my fisher price swing was kind of a piece of crap and very large, so maybe if you're going to get one and you know you'll use it, get a nicer one.
UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system? I would wait on this, too. We had the britax travel system, but it turns out I way prefer babywearing. I probably clicked the car seat into the stroller like 3 times with my first baby and didn't use it at all with second. Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine? You do NOT need special changing station. Anyone else paying more for GreenGuardGold Certified nursery furniture? Yes, I did, actually. I believe in this stuff. Maybe if you're getting used furniture, it's fine because it's already off gassed. But if you're getting new furniture, I would get greengold certified. Also, get an organic crib mattress - this is legitimately important. |

OP here.
The new Pack n Play comes with the bassinet area that can be taken off and changed two ways for a portable bassinet. We live in a house and would use it for a changer and place to set the baby down on the first floor. My husband is more into diapers and wipes with very little chemicals and we heard Pampers Pure doesn't contain lots of irritants and chemicals. We are probably going to buy GreenGuardGold certified furniture because it's lower emission and doesn't off gas chemicals. It's very expensive though. The bouncer will be on our baby registry. I would like to put one on to have it. We will be buying the stroller systems ourselves. It's one of the best rated and certain ones are not treated with harmful flame retardants. I heard some people love the keekaroo and others said it was hard to clean and not worth it. |

Thoughts on Pampers Pure Diapers? Unless you have a family history of extreme skin sensitivities - get the cheap stuff! You're going to go through hundreds of these and they literally just get pooped on. Don't buy a ton of whatever you pick, that way if your kid is irritated, you can switch (upgrade) later. UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system? Stroller types are so dependent on your lifestyle. Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine? Keekaroo not at all worth it. I just got a like $10 changing pad that's meant to have a cover and never put a cover on it. If it gets poop on it, you wipe it down. Boom, done. |
You know what's greener and doesn't have emissions? Used furniture. We love used furniture and it's much better made than current furniture. |

Pampers Pure Diapers? Really nice and think they're great but I mostly use Kirkland now.
Thoughts on the new Graco Pack n Play? I use mine all the time but we do frequent weekend travel to visit family. Thoughts on a baby Bjorn bouncer? Don't have one but friends and family that have it rave about it. UppaBaby V2 stroller travel system? Yes. Especially if you live in a walkable area. Keekaroo worth it or a cheaper changing pad is fine? We have a keekaroo and a regular changing pad on different floors and I love it but think there are cheaper options (saw one for a similar price that had a scale built in which I wish I had known about). Anyone else paying more for GreenGuardGold Certified nursery furniture? Never heard of it until now. |
| We have that PnP that has the little bassinet, diaper changing station and separate stand. It’s been awesome but she is 4 months and has outgrown the little bassinet portion. She sleeps in the PnP now, but hung out in the bassinet in the stand when I was in the kitchen or when we sat down for dinner and had her next to us. I really liked it and it was nice to have a place to change her without having to go up to her room. We got it on sale at buy buy baby. I say go for it, knowing the extras have limited use. |
Also, we were given a keekaroo as a hand me down. It’s really nice but I probably wouldn’t have bought one myself. She’s had a few accidents on the changing table but nothing too major. |
+1 we have the same one and the bassinet is only useful when they're teeny. But it's still a pack and play so it's useful for travel and stuff. OP, knowing this style has been around for at least a couple of years and you have concerns around off-gassing, this is something you could likely get second-hand to offset some of your more pricey inclinations elsewhere on your list. |
