What do you have to look forward to?

I’m feeling low

That first crisp fall day when the air is cool and you get to wear a light jacket with boots.

My middle kid going away to college in January and being closer to an empty nest (I’m still 4 years away...).

OMG this! I love fall!!! I also look forward to continuing to spend more time with my kids every day. I typically have a long commute, so now, with no commute I get hours back to spend with my family.

The rest of your whole damn life! I simply have no use for people who are the voices of doom and always trying to bring other people down. You're alive. Make use of your time. If you're depressed count your blessings. If you need medication, see your doctor.

Hugging each of my friends for a long time once this is over.

It’s ok to feel low sometimes OP. Ignore PP who ha no tolerance for people who have normal human ups and downs.

Honestly? Not much.

Ignore PP, OP. I feel low, too. There is not much to look forward to, and as this drags on, it is becoming harder and harder to find joy in gratitude for all I have. That carried me through until about mid-July.

You might benefit from a social worker/psychologist for strategies on reframing thinking and being mindful, and someone to talk to. If the feelings really get intrusive/disruptive, see a psychiatrist about whether medication is appropriate. Situational depression, depression, anxiety, etc., are very real, especially right now, so don't just dismiss them out of hand.

I have a pre-existing generalized anxiety disorder, but I think lots of people will need some of the above help as this drags on.

Moving from an apartment to our first (small row)house.

The weather cooling down enough for exercise and weekend hikes to be enjoyable.

I look forward to you doing something besides posting here.

We are all worn down by the pandemic and the Trump circus. Hopefully, there will be a vaccine and a new administration in early 2021. That’s what I look forward to.

Literally nothing, if it wasn’t for my kids, I would have in all likelihood ended my life by now.

In the immediate future? A slice of ice cream cake for dessert tonight.
In the near future? My kids returning to school (planned for in-person now, but regardless of in-person or online I look forward to them being back)
In the distant future? Hugs from friends and vacations

Congrats! We moved from an apartment to our first house a little less than a year ago and it has been the best. I hope you enjoy it!
