Who attended the meeting last night? We are not surprised but we are let down. Does anyone know why they changed course after implying that younger grades, and possibly all grades, would be on campus? Why allow junior Kindergarten on campus full time but not kindergarten or first? |
There is significant teacher push back. |
poor leadership, lack of transparency |
They screwed parents |
If parents send their kids/are considering sending their kids to Burgundy, they have nobody to blame but themselves.
Burgundy. LOL. |
WOW - so they changed to DL? Even for junior kindergarten? |
I’m a long-standing burgundy parent and supporter. However after they blindsided us last night with DL after promising in person all summer I will never defend them
Again. |
They dropped this bomb without ANY explanation. It makes no sense. I assume the JK teacher was the only one willing to go back and the school caved. |
Folks don’t seem to get this. All the HOSs want to open. The teachers are refusing to come in person. Your HOS is not going to tell you that but it’s true. If your school has been planning hybrid and suddenly changed to distance, that is 100% the reason why. - a teacher |
Fine. Give me my tuition back. |
I’m sorry that they couldn’t figure things out - that sucks - they have so much outdoor space and the foundation of using a lot of the outdoor space already with summer camp (that kids previously attended). I’m sorry to hear. |
^^ that MY kids previously attended |
Totally was a bait and switch. Now we are on the hook for tuition. Our family is so done with this school. Middle school DL in the spring was a complete disaster. Math, humanities, language and science did one 35-40 minute zoom a week. Yes, one class a week. They better have a well thought out plan for DL this year. They have had all summer to reshape the curriculum to fit DL and to train teachers. I predict a mass exodus from Burgundy in the next 2-12 months. |
+1000 |
Our kids are not at Burgundy, but I have friends there. I got an email from Arlington Magazine just days after APS announced a virtual start that was an ad from Burgundy advertising 5 days on campus in person.
I sent it to friends at Burgundy. All of our reactions were that it was a dangerous, dumb money grab. |
