My OBGYN highly recommended Dr. Sacks from CFA for my embryo transfer. Does anyone have experience with him?
Also, I am told that CFA staff are unpleasant and there are billing problems. How accurate is this? THANK YOU! |
| Dr. Sacks is great. Very friendly, good bedside manner, very responsive to any and all questions. The office staff are meh -- I found that I really had to stay on top of things to make sure they were billing my insurance correctly. |

He wasn’t my main doctor but saw him for some visits and loved him.
Agree on meh for office staff. I expected them to be more forthcoming with information on what they were looking for and doing, but always had to ask. One nurse I saw most of the time was nice, one time I had a different nurse who yelled at me for coming in so late in my cycle, even as I explained they were the ones not returning daily phone calls about when I should come in. I had decided then to switch clinics but ended up pregnant. I did have two minor billing issues that came up when I went to give a co-pay. I said I didn’t want to pay it until I talked to billing. Your payment gets applied to a balance not a specific line item so it made it annoying to figure out charges. Ultimately I think they undercharged me on my final cycle. I don’t think it’s any worse that elsewhere and is just compounded by frequency of visits—insurance doesn’t process one cycle before the next one starts. Make sure you get a receipt for payment every time and mark on it yourself what it was for. |
| Sounds like billing is a headache but the doctor is quite good, thanks! my insurance doesn't cover it anyway. maybe my boyfriend's does. |
. I think the person having the embryo implanted has to have the insurance. |
| You’ve posted about this numerous times, yes? Go with CFA! People love Dr. Sacks, their office is close by. |

Love Dr. Sacks - so good and amazing at dealing with sensitive issues (weight, husband...etc.). I don't have as many complaints with the office as others -- but Sacks and the whole are amazing. He also knows what he's talking about (I'm pregnant - and thanks to his advice and guidance).

| I had a very negative experience at CFA. Found the office unfriendly and unresponsive at best, and I had a terrible experience with Sacks, who I believe (based on my experience) cancels procedures to help his numbers. Shady Grove was a joy in comparison, and I have a lovely child thanks to Shady Grove. |
| Love Dr. Sacks and am current patient of his. To echo others, the staff is not great but Dr. Sacks is super responsive and will always listen to your concerns. |
| I have been working with them for about 6 months. Billing issues were awful at first but I think they got a new staffer who is much better and I have not had issues recently. My one complaint is it’s hard to get anyone to pick up the phone and they don’t have an online portal. |
| The most compassionate doctor ever! My husband and I loved Dr. Sacks when we did our treatments. |

I loved Dr Sacks, I saw him for a second opinion after 3 failed frozen embryo transfers using pgs normal embryos at shady grove fertility. I really wanted him to be my doctor, but the office staff sucks big time. I called several times and no one the phone. I left several messages for nurses and financial counselor. Fertility treatment is already stressful, so I got a third opinion with Dr. Payson At CCRM northern Virginia.
Dr. Payson is not as warm as Dr Sacks, but I’m not looking for a friend. CCRM office staff and nurses are very professional and very responsive. |
| Absolutely love Dr. Sacks as a person, but I wish we had switched clinics earlier. The office staff is not always responsive and I found that very stressful. |

We had a great experience with Dr. Sacks - am 29 weeks pregnant with our first transfer.
While CFA's admin staff is nothing to write home about - we didn't have any billing problems. To be honest, I found their nursing staff to be the most lacking part of all of it. |
+1. There is one nurse I like but the rest are unfriendly and no one EVER answers the nurses line. I finally got an email address and that’s been better. |
