Depending where you live, getting a handgun if you presumably want to do it legally will take you...a while. They’re more problematic to transport, etc.

Get a 12 gauge shotgun, the shortest you can find. Pump action. Holds 7 shells or so. Nothing makes people stop like that racking sound, it’s said.

Learn how to load, clean, and maintain and shoot it. Keep it secure but able to get to in a pinch. Be responsible with it. And hope to never need it.

For all the BS and AR-15s and stuff, if you want to defend life and limb at close quarters, you want a shotgun.

I ordered alcohol swab wipes (use to clean stethoscopes thermometer etc) box of 300 will make do with those as hand wipes
Not out of order on Amazon

I wouldn't use those for hands, they're way too small and will give you a false sense of security. An alcohol:water (6:4) solution, in a spray bottle would be much better.

Yes, you can use it to drink. I use it for bread making. Good item to have on hand just in case.

Why that over a shelf-stable milk like Parmalat?

Lighter, cheaper, takes up less room.

The faucet. It won't run out.

Unless there is a water main break OR a boil advisory/power outage combo (electric stove here). Better safe than sorry.

Take your empty juice/liquid containers. Wash them.

Then fill them with the clean water from your tap. Boom. You have drinking water in the event of an emergency.

I got fruit punch and lemonade powder and would use it in a homemade rehydration mix. Hopefully we won't need it and my kid can use if for her lemonade stand when the weather gets warmer.

Buy 5Ga containers (can be collapsible) to fill up yourself, from Amazon.
You can always use them later to bring drinks or water to large gatherings, when those no longer seem ill-advised, or for camping.

How would you store the water since it isn't sealed?
