Yeah, you can throw in the girls DA too. |
My daughter's team scrimmaged against BRYC U11 "developmental" team. BRYC parents described it as a travel team that has not started to play in any leagues. They were pretty good and my daughter said they were probably better than some of the teams she faced in the WAGs tournament, which is a big compliment. I agree that it makes sense to do one giant pyramid with promotion and relegation, but some big egos (travel coaches, club directors) won't allow that to happen. |
| Yeah, and actually, I'd include DA teams in promotion and relegation. Let every team earn the right to the league it aspires to. |
I agree. This way the top tier would be a true top tier and have the best coaches. |
Please explain how this would work and how it would improve youth soccer. |

All of this is interesting but has nothing to do with FCB escola. It’s interesting that it keeps coming up in this head from the perspective of who is peddling it and the agendas target have brought into other threads, but apart from that, I think there was a thread dedicated to the subject where pro/rel posts belong.
|
You are right, not a Barca team in the bunch. Guess that person was throwing up smoke. |
And if one includes the international tournaments the Escola encourages their teams to enter, for example the MIC cup in Spain, the cost also balloons to easily $10k and more from the nominal $3.5k. Are we competing for highest cost pay to play options? |
And parents who do not wish to go or cannot afford the trip are free to turn those trips down without fear of reprisals. |
Says you. There’s no way to tell how that might work out longer term for the player that “opts out.” |
Mother of tin foil hats... |
They will ask other kids to play until they have a roster. That is how it works out |
Lol, yes because it’s inconceivable that a kid who opts out of a tournament may not be treated as well as those who always participate. |
Clearly you know nothing about how Barca works. There is no penalty to players for not going. Anyone in the program knows how laughable that would be. My kid had the opportunity to go last year. Didn’t want to spend our money on it. There has been zero impact on my U16’s spot on the team. |
| I think the point is that it isn’t cheap. Even $3.5k is double what most are paying for that level of soccer (C and D level at big clubs, which is the appropriate level outside of the 3 or 4 teams club wide that are at a higher level than that, from results). |
