Beau Mason, commissioner of the Utah Department of Public Safety, said he there is still an active investigation for the person of interest, who is still at large. That directly contradicts a social media post from the F.B.I. Director Kash Patel, who said a suspect “is now in custody.”

It also makes it irresponsible to speculate on the shooter's motive. Utah Gov. is acting like he knows the shooter's motive.

I found this pretty shocking. I expect more from a governor.

Maybe he does know more than he is actually saying.

Even the governor of Utah?

It’s social media, social media has destroyed us. Get off social media and actually converse with people face to face. Disagreements are okay, it’s okay to lose. Social media is not natural. Boycott social media.

I just decided today to get off all social media. I hate the extremes. This site may be next.

I see why Europe is passing all of these social media laws.

At least 3 students are in critical condition after a shooting at Evergreen HS in Colorado.

This is the 47th shooting that took place at a school in the US so far this year: 24 on college campuses, 23 on K-12 school grounds.

This happened less than an hour after Charlie Kirk shooting in Utah.

The Utah GOP made today's shooting possible, allowing for open carry on campus. That law went into effect in March. Why in the world do college campuses need open carry?

I’m not sure I’d pick the word “fun”, but I agree.

It’s clear to me that many have bought into their myopic worldviews. There’s no attempt to come together.

It makes me wonder if all this hate is orchestrated. It’s sad.

It is orchestrated. Our entire society is now full of artificial, vapid, entitled, self absorbed individuals thanks to social media. We’re all main characters now.

He is very popular with teenage boys, I would go as far to say that is his main demographic.

But they don't even have the shooter. How is he able to be 'very clear" so prematurely? In the same press conference, the FBI refused to comment on whether or not there is international involvement.

Yes, they do.

They said they don't in the very same press conference.

He didn’t deserve to die. He is absolutely not a hero.

That’s actually good news to hear for conservatives. Even my GMU liberal son just commented how sick and demented people have become on the left (commenting on their online celebrating).

It’s not a conspiracy. Anyone with a functional neuron can see this is a distraction from Epstein.

Nope. The shooter made today’s shooting possible.

What heroic thing did he do?

Why are they upset?

Probably no accomplices, or they might not have said.
Sounds like it was one guy going right up to him

News conference - officers hedged on that. My guess is he was affiliated with some group. FBI was directly asked if he acted alone and they hedged.

It is extremely sad this young father died from gun violence. My thoughts are with his wife and children.

Separately, I wonder if it this was an Epstein distraction. If it is, it would be horrific.

The Trump administration isn’t smart enough or well-organized to orchestrate this as a Epstein distraction.

Really? They seem smart enough to destroy democracy in a matter of months. I think we should stop trying to convince ourselves that the law fascists are mouth breathing morons. They just look like it.
