Why did that make you uncomfortable that he is of Brazilian heritage? Why dismiss it? You don’t see the relevance of it? Are you that clueless? |
According to you I am apparently. |
He’s not clueless. He knows what he’s doing. |
Definitely not. Will likely play in the academy team, on age. U16/u17. All I will say is the level is WAY higher where he is going and he's going to a club that isn't known for having a great academy that produces players but rather buys talent at older ages which means there is less development incentive, it is a literal meat grinder and they ship many players out of the squad per season. No real pathway to first team. They have zero academy players on first team. Not a good sign if you're an academy player or even on the second team. Playing in high school level games for a while will be a massive change. In work rate and defensive intensity alone. Forget on the ball. The realities of European football are that a u16 player has about two seasons before the club makes a determination on their pro status and prospects. That's not a lot of development time for a player that has never played at the European level and isn't dominating at the highest level domestically in the US. Playing time is hard to come by, extremely competitive and parents can't manipulate clubs like they can in the US. Transferring if you're not happy at those older ages isn't that simple either so jumping ship is also harder because there is money involved. The business of soccer is real at these ages. It definitely isn't about the oranges at the end of the game. That is for sure Hopefully he does well. Clearly the club sees some potential or they wouldn't sign him. Whether they help him realize that potential is a completely different story for the reasons above. As someone who has seen many US players come to Europe, would be very interested to see where this story ends. |
Brazilian isn't a race. In fact, Brazilians come in all colors you can imagine. You are weird and a racialist for saying what you did. |
This kid's father has 10X more to do with his current state than Sal He has taken the kid any and everywhere to get training. Here and abroad. He just happened to spend some time at Achilles. Phillip Gyau and other coaches in the area have a much more exceptional track record than Sal for developing kids to Pro levels. This kid is a lightening strike for Sal and he's milking it. Let's stop the BS |
First. How is he milking it? specific example please. Second, and again, you must be thinking about someone else. He's been at Achilles forever and hasn't played anywhere else except DC United, and Bethesda for half a season. Each time he came back to Achilles. Yes his dad was involved. Of course. And he and the player chose to develop at Achilles. |
I don’t know anything about that. But it’s still very rare to be in the position that he is in. Anyhow you kind of are contradicting yourself. You’re giving credit to the father BUT the father in the end didn’t choose Phillip Gyau or other coaches. He entrusted Sal to take it home. Sal probably used his connections to even get this kid on the radar in Germany. |
Oh please. The kid was at Achilles club. Not developed at Achilles. He spent a lot more time doing private and group trainings away from Achilles team trainings. What Sal know about high level European soccer especially compared to Phillip Gyau? Sal can't carry Phillip's clipboard in that regards. This quality kid just by chance and coincidence did some time at Achilles. He would have ended up getting this opportunity if he was at Bethesda or PPA or SYC, because of his parents efforts. |
Word is Sal brought him over to Germany personally. If my kid ends up with that kind of potential I’m taking him to Achilles just for the European connection only 😂 |
Why waste so much time coming on here to straight up lie about this? Put the axe down. It's ground. |
Back to the point of this thread. Bethesda just put out a parent survey… Time to make your voice heard. |
Does anything ever happen after the parent survey? |
At Bethesda???? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! |
Turned in survey before I could complain about playing RL teams at Arlington Showcase what a waste of time |
