That would be crazy. She’s only entitled to 1 year of pay under her contract.

Rumor is the settlement will be around $750k. Let's see.

MCPS is gonna MCPS. What's new?

I really hope people vote out incumbents on the BOE this time around. I know I will be doing that, as I do every time.

You can only vote new people in. And you can only vote new people in if they file their candidacies pronto.

The incumbents apparently wait until an hour before the filing deadline (next week, I thnk?) to file. Looks like ther are some new faces filing so far, at least for at large.

Harris and Smondrowski have already filed. Just waiting to see if Evans will or she announces she's not seeking reelection.

So this explains why my property taxes went up so much. Lawsuits and hush money! So easy to spend other peoples money. I hope the board puts their foot down and not give her a penny more than what her contract states.

What about Brian Hull? Would he be acting super if she resigns?

He needs to go with her. His hands aren't clean given his meddling with the retaliation against Khalid Walker.

While a huge deficit is causing schools go without…outrageous, if true!

To not speak badly about the board and expose how they are complicit in MCPS's rot. Similar to the agreement they struck with Starr, who remains mum on the specifics of what happened between him and the board that led to his ouster.

Anything less than $1mm would be money well spent!

If that’s true, she’s a selfish witch. Taking that amount of money literally away from children for her own bank account, as a wealthy woman, is not a good look for someone who purportedly cares about public education and students. I get it that she didn’t want to be immediately cut off, but that sum is unconscionable for someone who is essentially being fired for cause even if it’s technically a resignation.

This situation seems absolutely prime for one of MCPS's "critical and unpleasant information blasted by email at 6:30pm on a Friday when we hope you aren't looking until Monday" email drops.

The board's closed session meeting today is from 2 to 5 pm.

Hah, you clearly haven't seen the BOE in action. They show up at the job with a rubbber stamp in hand ready to say Yes to whatever MCPS proposes!

So we’ll know around 5:30.
