Why would the DA take a plea deal on a slam dunk felony charge that others are serving or have served prison time for? |
Bragg is not considering the presidential election in his charging decisions, and he's completely right to do that. I don't see why Trump would plead or Bragg would accept a plea. Bragg appears to have a strong felony case, so why let Trump plead down? And if he pleaded, Trump wouldn't be able to play victim nearly so well. Highly unlikely there is a trial before next fall's election so no one will be able to claim a win or loss in that election. |
Evergreen post. |
Do old Trump claimed he could stand in the middle of the Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and get away with it. But today, for paying his own money to a porn star as hush money and trying to cheat NYC from paying taxes on that money, he will face a criminal indictment. How low has he slid from the top of the golden escalator to bathe in this stinky, sticky, never to be washed off swampy sewage! |
Not a criminal or a lawyer so forgive the stupid question. I think I heard that Trump and his lawyers are hearing the charges for the first time today. Is that how this works? I get indicted and have no idea what for and have to show up and declare my innocence or guilt?
|
The indictment was sealed until today. |
Doesn't always work that way. But, it appears that is the way it works here. Prosecution is leaking and Trump still doesn't know. But, prosecutors are supposed to find the crime and go after the man. In this case, they chose the man and went after the crime. Sad day for US. |
That's a statement of your opinion but not the facts. Reality differs. |

His campaign was "get Trump." |
Give me a flipping break. This guy COMMITTED CRIMES LEFT AND RIGHT IN PUBLIC. |
He and his lawyers know what the charges are. |
No, sorry that reality doesn't suit you. It's more comforting to just make stuff up that you like better, isn't it? |
And did people vote for him after learning that? They did, yes? So evidently the people in his district want accountability for the world’s biggest duck up. “The people” being the ones who had to live with the crimes of that miserable bigoted treason weasel before the rest of the country was unlucky enough to do so. The GOP really thinks they’re above the law. |
Always remember: when the GOP wrings their hands and gnashes their teeth over “law and order,” what they mean is “we want to be able to kill Black and Brown people with impunity, especially the cops, but rich White people are above the law.” Otherwise what they would say is “the rule of law.” |
