How can I marry a rich guy?

If he is early 30s and has a huge dating pool, why would he want sad sack mid-30s OP?

No. That happens, but rarely at this age because by 35, successful people are in a trajectory where the last thing they need is a partner in the same phase. It’s going to make kids impossible and you’re going to be at odds a lot.

More often, they marry a woman “on their level” — similar education background, maybe spent a few years in law or consulting before bailing for an easier gig, has some family money/support to sweeten the deal. But she’s not got some hard charging career— she’s fully ready to pivot to kids with a less stressful job or maybe even being a SAHM.

Guy here. Are you speaking from experience or just guessing? I have successful single male friends in that age range. They just don't think that closely about the logistics of having a family like that. I have 2 friends who are partners at law firms, and while they may not be seeking out a female mate who is also a partner (grueling schedule), they'd have no problem with dating someone in a less-stressful legal job (another lawyer friend married a US gov't lawyer).

There's a big difference between hard-charging career, and being a project manager at a non-profit just whiling the days away. The men I know go for someone in between those ranges.

This--there's a lot of women who are successful in their own right, can support themselves if need be, and have established a niche but are not in an ultra hard charging career.

By sincere.

Just stay away from my husband. He will tell you he’s an educated guy who traveled around the globe, but you’ll soon find out he yells too much to the point of embarrassing you. Your overall health will soon be deteriorated. Love yourself, be free, stay out of trouble.

I used to work at a Starbucks in a rich neighborhood. I got hit on all the time. I was a teenager then.

This is DC. It’s not “a college degree!”, it’s “only a college degree”

Given some of the Art History, Women's Studies, and African-American Studies majors at my college, I think I'd pick the squeegee kid. You do realize some colleges have majors just for their athletes to graduate right?

I met a woman at my club whose kid was in the same Big 3 as mine, different grade. She bragged about being a SAHM and landing a rich guy. It wasn't too long before she mentioned that he was still married when they started dating. Her child was about 5 at the time and his kids were young adults. She had the audacity to tell me he spends too much time with his older kids. I can't really look at her the same anymore. I can't believe some people are so brazen. Don't do this! She is about 20 years younger than the rich guy. She is very pretty (Russian blonde, who plays a smashing game of tennis).

You need to spend some money. My wife’s friend who was making 40k a year and living at home had a net worth of 4k.

She blew her 4k on a share in a tiny literally converted two car garage shack in the Hamptons and did a summer. Six girls in a two car garage basically.

She hit every scene possible and four weeks in a bond trader was home hooked. Beautiful house. Rich in-laws in CT. Two picture perfect kids and she is a SAHM. She rolled the dice.

I dated several really rich girls. My trouble is I got one I figured I could get another next thing I was 33 and the good ones were getting picked off.

But really rich hard. I got one single date with a billionaires daughter. Dad sniffed me out.

Dated a wealthy girl 18 months I cheated on her and got caught. Actually hard not to. I mean I am basically a junior person who grew up in a 1,200 square foot shack. I went to Aspen, Palm Beach, Southampton, Manhattan, heck they had an estate and I had my own bedroom. Well it was a 12 bedroom house. But guess what easy to get more. I also dated two only children whose parents had money.

I actually once dated a dated a minor actress. While dating rich girl. So messed up at one point used two cars. Yes I had two. The actress wanted me to take her to her friends Jersey shore house. I could not as was meeting other girl. Yes I kept trading up. I also had a very very used Mercedes convertible that looked great as hard to tell had 180,000 miles.

Well I gave the actress my jeep for weekend. She must have thought what guy lends a car to a girl after three dates then I took my Mercedes to another NJ beach town and crazy I spotted my jeep coming other way and almost got caught.

Lesson here land one and take it. Don’t be like me. My last day at top. I went to party at Christina Lawfords mansion and a Rockerfella, Susan Luchi, a Kennedy you name it was there and me. Sadly I went over my skis. It can be done.

You need props. I had a Mercedes convertible, apt in Manhattan and a share in a Hampton house at 29 on a $48k income. I came clean once to a FX trader I became friend with and she went balistic I had such balls as she thought I was filthy rich.

Other trick is to volunteer black tie and high end events. I also owned a nice tux.

My other trick watch for celeb and high end charity events or fancy things and go to nearest hottest bar before it ends.

And don’t go over your skis. I tried for a billionaires daughter who was a former model on the cover of cosmo.

Meanwhile I had two pretty girls more down to earth with pretty rich parents I could of landed easy.

If you don't mind the ethical issues, this could be an option. You could probably find a late thirties/early 40s rich man in an unhappy marriage who you might be able to snag if you "accidentally" get pregnant. You would likely not want to target a "player" but a geeky engineer type who didn't date much before his marriage. I know someone who pulled off something similar- she didn't get pregnant but went from being the OW to the DW.

Tried this, failed. He was a good guy who would not leave his kids. He was mid 50s. Ended badly for me.

Preach

Well, I earn $225K in income and another $30K in dividends annually, and have a net worth of about $4.6M at 50, so I have some latitude.

OP your options are:
1) marry an ambitious younger guy and live your life 5-7 years behind schedule
2) marry a wealthy much older guy (like 15 years older)
3) steal someone else's wealthy older guy (not recommended)
4) marry a divorced guy who is rebuilding and may have kids
5) marry a stable guy within a few years of you who is maybe not that wealthy, but still be financially better off being married than being single, bc married people typically are.

You won't find a wealthy same-age never-married guy to just walk into an easy life with.

Forgot, could also marry a widower and deal with the resentment from his kids who are close to you in age.
