There were some acceptances, some deferrals and a bunch of denials. Why would you assume the majority of people applying to single digit acceptance school would gain admission?


If those applying are recruited athletes/development cases/have other hooks...

That is a ridiculous thing to say. Has it ever occurred to you that many super-talented kids would actually prefer *not* to go to an Ivy? Not because they’ve “settled”, but because they actually *want* Northwestern…or Vanderbilt .. or lots of other great schools.

+1. Know plenty of kids, even in the RD round, who chose Northwestern over Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, and a couple who chose it over the likes of Columbia, Harvard, and MIT. It’s been like this for years, if not decades.
