My favorite angry nanny post was the nanny who told "angry Jewish mom who didn't like born again music station playing in her car" that she should try driving her own kids around if she didn't like it. It still makes me laugh. |
| laugh out loud? |
| I'm the OP of the "Worst has happened" and I wish it was fake but it was not. |
| I nominate "Gavin DeBecker/Protecting the Gift mom" as most annoying and possibly most neurotic. |
I am so with you. |

What thread was that? Can you link?
I thought practically every poster on the cupcake thread was annoying, after a while. |
This poster is the one I find most annoying. Her sense of humor isn't funny to me, I tend to find it ridiculous and like she spends too little time holed up in houses and not out in the real world being social with adults. I tend to think she finds herself funnier than she really is. She's always around... pervasive throughout all the boards. Which in and of itself wouldn't be so bad if she weren't annoying! And I'm no grammar whiz, but the dashes between sentences used incorrectly instead of the proper grammar is just a key part of what makes her annoying. Another big part is the general content and ridiculousness of some of her posts. Some posts of hers when she really gets going, its as if she never, ever pauses. It seems like she just talks non stop because dashes are all over the place, with nary a period in sight. Her teachers must have hated her for this. That said, as a fellow nanny we do occasionally agree on some issues, and yet hotly debate others, so I welcome her presence for that even if I do find her to be quite obnoxious. Plus, anybody who can make up good, intriguing stories for a child (even if they are about fish) can't be a totally horrible person. As far as the poster I truly dislike the most (and don't merely find annoying) that I'd agree goes to the foreign born not-nanny troll. Also her counterpart, the foreign born nanny who is, but should not be one. And now, having written this I realize it's mostly the nannies on the board here who annoy me. With one exception made for the one mom who is most vocal about the "fact" that most nannies are over paid, under-worked, and generally stupid lazy blobs who don't need education anyway. Yet, she takes every negative post about "nannies" and turns it into proof for her belief and a chance to push parents to hire unskilled, uneducated workers for cheap- without realizing that it's some of the very things she spouts that leads to problems. People reading her posts would be led to assume all nannies are equal and either keep a bad nanny fearing they'll get one worse, or never open themselves to the idea of a real nanny because that would typically cost more. More money doesn't automatically equal better nanny, but better nannies can and do get more pay, so yes, they will ask for it. They'll also show you why they deserve it, and the people they've worked for will back them up! :takes a deep breath: Okay. I'm done. That was cathartic. Thanks OP.

| I laugh out loud all the time -- especially on DCUM! |
I don't know who you are but FBFN claims that she laughs out loud when what she means is that she is laughing at someone else because she is superior. It's pretty rare and weird to actually laugh out loud if the other person isn't being funny but because you just feel superior to them. She claims the other person is "so funny" but I don't for one minute believe her; she doesn't mean funny-ha-ha she means funny-silly-wrong. I'm pretty sure she does it because she knows it is annoying. |
| I agree. You don't laugh out loud because of superiority. If my husband was in a room reading something and started laughing out loud, I would ask, "What is so funny?", and if he just read me something he thought was just wrong, I would think that was weird. |
I wish it had been fake too. So sorry. |
| Dear 2:12 it sounds like you find a lot of people annoying. I wonder if anyone finds you to be annoying? Actually, no I don't. |

Okay, that last post jarred my memory. What I find most annoying is when someone complains about something, notices something gross, remarks about something not being fair, etc, and some person from out of nowhere says, "I think maybe you have the problem". I know it's hundreds of people who do this, and I don't even mind the sentiment. What I mind is the lack of creativity. All they say are these one liners, "You don't sound like a nice person", and such.
If you don't think so, then elaborate. Contribute. Raise the discussion. Don't just say these one liners and then go attack another thread. I'm pretty sure it's an intelligence thing. |
You just had to throw in that last sentence, didn't you? |
| Yes. Yes, I did. |
