US Capitol Breached by Trump's lunatics - The Commision Thread

If the aim is to get facts that aren't readily available, you don't preen and cry on TV. You hunker down and get to work without TV cameras.

The FBI investigations are separate from this one?

Just like the Benghazi investigators, amirite?

The Benghazi hearings were an utter shitshow, drawn out in spectacular fashion and done largely for political theater. So yes, this is looking to be a lot like that. It seems you agree?

Yes, the FBI investigation is separate. So is the DOJ investigation, also separate. And then there are at least seven Congressional committee investigations ongoing, as well.

Expecting a congressional commission investigation to be the same as an FBI investigation is expecting your grandparents to be as strict as your parents. They’re not the same.

The point here is to get everything in front of people’s eyes. Make the treason visible. Let everyone see. So many people have tuned out and this isn’t just regular old GOP malfeasance, this is a BFD.

Yeah I should have put an “um” on the beginning of that. That was my point.

So, it's more of an exhibition than an investigation. That makes more sense and explains a lot of what I saw.

I see it more as a comprehensive laying out of the facts and information so that it is on the official government record. Testimony is recorded. The results of laying it out may lead to accountability and better security going forward (as was mentioned earlier). The record will put into concrete perspective what needs to happen going forward. This needs to happen. As someone said, this was a BFD.

You need new eyes, then.

The pp above you seemed to like it and also saw it as an exhibition - a laying out of the facts and putting testimony into the record. I agree with that depiction. What part of that do you disagree with?

It isn't a court of law, it is a congressional hearing, and series of hearings where facts are established and a story is built based on those facts. It is investigative in nature in that, as the Commission has said, they will follow the facts to their conclusion. That is different than the scores of Benghazi hearings, which were purely for show.

I saw that. It’s disturbing on so many levels, yet it’s not surprising.

I’m glad media is allowing the full audio and not bleeping. NPR played a similar recording today. Play these load and often and make GOP and the “I vote GOP for low taxes” hear Trumps America.
