I completely understand your frustration with her attitude. Their policy is the right one, though. If the baby poops while he’s with you, it’s crappy to hand him over and expect the daycare to take care of it. Also crappy to hand them a hungry baby or a baby whose clothes you expect them to change.
Daycare isn’t a nanny. And I wouldn’t hand over a baby with a poopy diaper to a nanny either. The daycare teacher probably spoke to you the way she did because she thought you were being disrespectful to her and entitled, and she was hurt and angry. |
No. That’s absolutely what I would have done. Or I would have walked in and straight to the changing table. |
Are you talking to OP? Her baby has been out of diapers for over a decade. |
Nope |
It’s someone else’s responsibility because I’m paying for it (Not op) |
Some kids come in with the diapers they had on yesterday. The providers are responsible for changing the diapers when they are in their care. Meaning your child should be dry when they come to school and if they have an accident on the way to school, please notify the teachers before leaving the center. As parents expect for their children to be dry at pick up the providers expect them to be dry at drop off. |
Iirc Bright horizons has that policy |
Or in this case, maybe 5 months. Zombie thread. |
I would have changed the diaper in the car before bringing the child in. Imagine if every child, or even half the children, showed up every day with dirty diapers. It would take away a staff member from supervisory duties…compounded by multiple children, that would be a lot of time. |
