Not even close to being on equal playing field with ECNL fast pace teams. Let’s see if they can pull it together not by name but by skill and play some real soccer and win some real games today.

FCV should be in bottom brackets but aren’t because GA plays weak competition making them appear skilled. Don’t thump your chest for fake success.

Gotta love FCVs excuse approach: to belittle Loudoun. We know Loudoun isn’t very good because their coaching is horrid, but what’s your excuse?

Really don’t like FCV. They are a pariah club that exists by recruiting players away from other local clubs and their parents think their s**t doesn’t stink. Also it is clear that they don’t have a bright future given their league. But, but, but their teams are good, some very good. Saying they should be in the bottom brackets is foolish. Their teams are placed appropriately at Jeff cup. Loudoun’s teams are currently not as good at the 4 oldest ages groups. But Loudoun’s teams will get better moving forward and FCV’s will get worse. Loudoun is getting their coaching sorted at the younger ages. Next year, Loudoun’s 4 youngest ECNL teams will likely be stronger on average than FCV’s. Every year into the future that difference will only get wider.

I agree with this analysis.

I also agree with the other poster about the illusion of success in the GA. FCV older teams are not tending in a positive direction. I suspect it’s because they were forced to step out of their bubble and face competition that they couldn’t walk all over. Beating teams 11-0, 9-0, 8-0 isn’t good for development. It was a shock to their system.

As far as brackets....there are teams that are in the Top bracket that clearly don’t belong there. It’s not a perfect science by any means and looks like some politics may be involved.

so true so true... the Dream team from last year in college now... seems they aren't a great as Bobby told them they are.

FCV teams dying in the top brackets. Sad! The older team only won in the next lower bracket. Brag all they want about "100 kids committed"! Look at the schools. Sad day. Just shows that the coaching is crappy - the good players that made the SYA/FCV team have moved on.
