Jefferson Cup 2021 girls showcase

If the good players moved on it doesn’t mean the coaching is crappy. How did they get good?

If they have a 100 kids committed, how many committed players do you think are playing significant minutes in a showcase that is meaningless to them? FCV is playing mostly non-committed players at this point.

That's 100% true. Everyone gets playing time in showcases and, uncommitted players get (and should get) the most playing time. At least on teams where coaches care about players and are not just looking for a win.

And Bethesda 05 losing 6-1 to Richmond ecnl

Sure, but the big news is FCV losing 3-1 in both the 04 and 05 age groups. LOL Welcome to the big leagues GA and to real competition. Not even close to being on equal playing field with ECNL fast pace teams. Let’s see if they can pull it together not by name but by skill and play some real soccer and win some real games today.

And McLean lost to a GA team. Does that mean they don’t play real soccer either?

Umm... for any club how many players are committed at the U17 and below levels? None. Why wouldn’t teams play to win? It can be done by ben by still offering every kid a chance to play but not necessarily equal minutes.

All the local clubs are getting exposed at Jeff Cup, either by bracket placement or results. Too many clubs, too many leagues, teams from different clubs practicing on the same fields but never playing head-to-head...and low quality.

Not true. The placements are the placements and plenty of clubs are doing fine in their groups. And if you believe posts on other threads the scores of these games don’t matter anyway. Everyone has a built in excuse.

No they aren't - their older teams are mostly committed, the youngers are getting beat in every game. They are playing to win.

FCV 06 done.

There is no shame in losing to that Bethesda team.

They’re not picking the draw out of a hat. If you’re ECNL/GA and they’re putting you in the 3rd bracket, your results to date don’t measure up to that of an ECNL team and you’re being placed as such.

I demand a recount. FCV doesn't lose.
