Nothing against it, but not that strong in the subject my DC is considering. I assume it is the 1 that the other PP would consider... |
Our team manager was told: Only two spectators allowed per player. All players have to sign COVID waiver. Spectators must wear masks on sidelines. |
It's all good the death rate of COVID is like 0.1% you'll be good fam |
*0.01% oopth |
If you don’t like to wear the mask, stay home. If you don’t understand what a rule is and why rules are made for them get a dictionary, educate yourself. That you don’t have a dictionary? Google it! |
where can I educate myself about the 2 (rather that 1 or 3) spectator requirement being a number based in science? |
| FWIW, in the past year, the only place we went for soccer that seemed to care about COVID protocols was NOVA. Raleigh, Richmond, VB, Charlottesville, Williamsburg, or any other random place between I never saw anyone enforce or care about it. |
You can't but you can base it on mathematics and trying to abide by capacity restrictions, mouth breather. |
sure, it's safe enough for unmasked players and two masked parents are ok (as opposed to one or none), but the third spectator makes it unsafe. Ad hominem is an interesting choice when you are trying to argue that decisions are based on science |
It's definitely not science, but it came out of the frustration of parents not being able to see their kids play at some tournaments last year. When Virginia instituted the 25 spectator rule for outdoor youth events, that meant only 12.5 parents per team could watch the game. A normal team will have at least 16-18 players, so parents literally had to draw straws at some tournaments to see who'd be lucky enough to watch. Obviously a terrible rule, so at least they are trying to make sure that both parents can watch now. |
I have not heard of most of those schools. I can understand picking schools based on academics and the bonus is playing soccer but this list is terrible. |
It's penn and a couple of good slacs and some truly awful choices. Does anyone living in NOVA and able to pay for travel sports really want to send their kid to juco to play soccer? |
Why the rant in reply to that? |
But where would it end? You’d be one that would complain that 7 wasn’t allowed if the allowed number was 6. Do you not understand the term mitigation? Ideally, the less in attendance the better. So be grateful they are allowing 2 and not 1 or zero.... and they know with the travel that many teams are facing, limiting it to two spectators will affect the number of people traveling on planes, eating at restaurants, staying in the hotels etc. There is a big picture to this all. Don’t be so argumentatively narrow minded. |
You all sound like really great people. |
