The kind of car a guy drives to pick you up on dates

The only turn-off for me would be if a guy drove a Kia Sportage to pick me up.

Last year I drove a dented 2003 Toyota Corolla. This year I drive a Mercedes convertible. Same person! So, judging this seems dumb

Thats part of owning a Jeep.

Poster you're responding to. HARD AGREE. lol

I drove a crappy car till it died then spent $50K cash - saved so I could pay cash. It does seem dumb.

We love our Jeep. Wish I got it sooner. So much fun. I wish we had an older Jeep as well so I wouldn't worry about off roading.

Any woman that judges you based on your car, isn’t worth squat. I do agree.... BMW drivers are douchebags.

Come on. After the first or second date, people no longer drive separately.

i have never been picked up for a date while dating in DC. We meet a the location via our own cars or Uber. Maybe this happens in the exburbs?

I dated in DC for years and always picked up my dates in my car. Drove a clunker old Buick for a while too. Was not a “screen” at first but realized it helped identify some thinking in some women. I later heard through the grapevine that when one of my “few date exes” (who frowned at my old brown car) realized where my wife and I now live, she was shocked. We always went to nice places and she was aware I had a decent apartment but the car, and perhaps me, did not seem to cut it for her. My friend who informed her of where I now live also let her know that he suspected I have been a multi-millionaire for X number of years (a slight exaggeration on the time frame) which lead her to do the math and realize I was far ahead financially of what she assumed when we went on those few dates.

Thank you car for helping me dodge a potential bullet!

Shocker women are attracted to money!

If a date showed up on a bike I'd be thinking that the date had
1) lost his license (possible deal breaker) or
2) was ridiculously bad with money (possible deal breaker) or
3) couldn't drive (possible deal breaker) or
4) was super into the environment (not a deal breaker) or
5) was testing me (possible deal breaker)

I happen to have a bmw 5 from work.....

I ditched my Dodge Stratus and now roll in my 2006 Prius. And I pickup exactly as many dates as you would expect.

I care about the environment, and am trying to minimize global warming. While I often drive a truck for work (SUV with gear out to the field), it seems wasteful to use such a big vehicle the 50 weeks a year I am home.

I drive a Prius prime. Most days I am all electric, but sometimes, the gas comes on if I have to do more than my commute. House is solar; so I am net carbon neutral to negative.

No, thank you. I prefer Fiat 500.

I’m a lady who drives an Escalade and a sports car, too. Hardly a T supporter. A guy who has one car and it’s a small car is a total turn off. At least at my age (40). And yes, men pick up for dates, still.

I assume the ladies replying that big cars are a turn off are much younger. My generation of women, hands down, likes a car that has some rumble and lots of power.

Are you currently dating at 40?

Not really since I’m married. But I speak from the experience of friends and what I look at - because I’m not blind!

Not PP, but what does this mean? You should not date if you are 40? Oh, I see what you did there, you were trying to insult PP...

+1 Well the bike would work for you!
Seriously, I like a big car (I don't want to drive them, but, yeah, I'm one of the ladies who likes a bit of rumble now and again), but I don't judge other people for having a fiat or a prius or a buick or a whatever. You drive what makes you comfortable. I drive what I find comfortable. I do prefer that you keep your car clean, though.
