Colleges that reopened and are shutting down

They should have spent time expanding their on campus health centers for respond 24/7 and added some isolation rooms monitored by health staff for very sick patients to stay in until they could be transferred to a hospital. It appears by all accounts that college age students become ill with less severity and yes the illness seems in line with flu or pneumonia or mono - for this age group. Anyone of those illnesses just like Covid can be more severe and turn deadly but it’s the exception and not the rule.

If they need campus health centers open, how “mild” is it??

To the great disappointment of all the hand wringers here, it’s simply not happening. My kids are all back at school and reporting near universal observance of the protocols that have been put in place (and swift action when necessary). They are all very impressed with everything that is being done at their schools.

You won’t get an answer. Love that little Apple-cheeked Johnny always tells mommy the truth.

All the ones you AREN’T reading about. There are more than 4,000 universities in the United States, and how many are you hearing about over and over again? Just the couple where things aren’t going as smoothly as they’d hoped.

Right, two colleges are struggling with this. Gotcha.

Note the poster with two fake students won’t answer.

Please name a few schools that have been open for >1 week, with students on campus, where things are going smoothly.

It’s actually three, and all of the schools have been mentioned in national media for their positive efforts in dealing with the pandemic. You just aren’t looking in the right places. And no, I’m not going to name them.

You won’t name a college on an anonymous forum. Seems legit.

It does appear that after one week of classes, Juanita is fine!

UMich opened just fine. I honestly think the Covid fear is all but erased. I wouldn't take public transportation and I think elder care facilities need to be VERY cautious, but otherwise, I don't think this has been a real issue for many weeks.
