I think I'm agreeing with you. He has no immediate intention to marry just says so to maintain a certain image for PR. The image being relatively wholesome that kids can look up to and his older fans can lust after as the handsome moviestar bachelor that just wants to settle down.

Yes that's my take away. He sid these things, he was the one to imply that a woman could not be career oriented, make a lot of money , and be a good person.

My person belief is that is has to do with his own insecurities, being the money maker in the relationship gives him a lot of control, a woman who has money in her own right would demand more equality in the relationship/

I also think this has to do with his mother. He makes no secret that he's a mama's boy. His mom was a SAHM. Absolutely nothing wrong with a SAHM, but I think, maybe he thinks a career women wouldn't respect his mom or his mom would feel threatned by a career woman and their would be conflict.
