Do you want your DC to be tall? And why?

You can control weight, but not height. You shouldn’t judge things like race or height. Be kind to all

I think pp was being sarcastic

I pity my 6 foot female colleague, who is not small boned and has huge hands and feet: her hands are bigger than most mens'. She's now in her 40s and I've seen photos of her, so i know she was more slender when she was younger, but there is no way I would ever want to be that tall.

Yeah, well, many of us feel that way about 5’5”. Get over yourself.

This comes across as so so shallow. You had a “minimum requirement” for height? I would love to see you other requirements. Also, you didn’t marry 6’3”. You married a person, but I’m sure he would live being reduced to a statistic. Gross.

+1. i have two teen boys and it's just so sad to hear so many moms feel this way. neither of them have a girl friend and i'm hoping it has nothing to do with their height...

Gosh, no. I don’t think this crowd represents the consensus. I’m 5’3” and most guys were taller than me so I never really worried about height. I don’t think any of my girlfriends had a requirement either. DCUM is another planet.

Would want a son to be tall, but there is still a definite preference for average or short women in society.

Not in Hollywood. So many tall celebrity women.

I hope PPs colleague never learns that she’s “pitied”, geez. So unkind.

Along with a height requirement a few others: college educated, ambitious, athletic (fit), and not an excessive drinker.

Sorry I'm not attracted to short men. Lots of women feel the same.

He was and is fully aware of my requirements. I married a man, not a charity case.

Honestly the biggest benefit is I can carry a few extra pounds more easily

At 16 DS is 6’2”+

He’s good looking and height/weight proportional (but his posture could be better- like mine at that age)

Yes I’m gloating

Yes, because I am short (5'0", maybe) and I hate it. No clothes fit well, so matter what I weigh. People literally look for over me in public. People treated me like I was an idiot little kid for ages, including in jobs. To counter that, I became more serious and informed, but then got slammed for being bossy or bitchy.

My taller female friends (and that's all of them, really) have had an easier time getting through life. Not a LOT easier, maybe, but easier. I want something better for my kid, but my husband is also short (and has had a similar life experience) so it isn't likely to happen.

I want my son to be tall so he can score one for these wives like on DCUM where she does everything and he gets to relax a lot and play on his phone.

Many big celebrities, both men and women, are actually quite short. You can't tell on screen because they're typically thin and cast alongside other short actors.

Well, this is a superficial thread.

You sound . . . really shallow. FYI, most people think the important characteristics for a partner are substantive things like kindness, humor, intelligence, loyalty, compassion, etc. Of your four or five “requirements,” two are based on appearance and none reflects character. I bet you think you’re a trophy wife.

I always felt self conscious about my height when I was younger but in my 20's really started appreciating it. I love being a tall woman and actually find it jarring when I run into a woman who's taller than me.

And you can pack on a decent amount of pounds before you look fat
