BLM nuclear family goal

An important principle of Marxism is to diminish the importance of the family structure and replace it with The State as the primary structure to which young people relate.

They can then be counted on to inform on and intimidate their families, acting as an arm of State authority that extends into each and every home with a far better and deeper penetration than would ever be capable by a government run program of surveillance and intimidation.

A fundamental goal of Marxism is maintain control of the population. That is accomplished through fear and intimidation. That is made possible by the threat of children informing on their parents, which can only happen if children are raised by the “the village” (The State) rather than by their parents.

It’s Marxism.

Didn’t any of y’all study PoliSci?

Lemme guess you wanna start imprisoning Black single parents and deem them as enemies of the state and/or do a Tuskegee Experiment Part II and start sterilizing Black people to protect democracy.
I mean IT’S MARXISM!!!
Somethings gotta be done, right?

Did I say anything like that?

Nah. I just described Marxism as it’s practiced.

You respond with accusations of racism and wing nuttery.

It’s called projection.

Have a nice day.

Great, but nobody should be required to be the union of one man and one woman to have support from the government. They should not hold back support due to a different family structure. Either nobody gets support or everybody does, your marital status should not matter.

Totally agree.
Just adding my 2 cents to let folks know that YES...BELIEVE IT OR NOT there are A LOT of Black couples out here some are married, some are common law but there are A LOT of them out here who are raising their kids together.
People on here act like a Black nuclear family is the Loch Ness Monster or something. Are y'all telling me you've never been to a restaurant or stayed at a hotel or just went to the damn store and seen a Black family?
Really?

Yep it’s like the decriminalization of many crimes committed primarily by blacks. We can’t make them stop, so instead let’s not make it a crime.

It’s like catering to the lowest common denominator.

The dumbing down of America. You really see it in the schools. Lets give every kid a trophy.

Lyndon Johnson did more to destroy the Black family than BLM could ever aspire to in the wildest fantasies.

No AA male on the board of BLM? No AA businessman?
No AA pastor? No AA athlete? No AA entertainer?

NP +1

I'm half expecting to see some sort of announcement about how having your father in prison is a good thing for the kids because it teaches them not to expect anything from anyone.

OP is being intentionally obtuse.

BLM wants to crate a world where broader kinship relationships are on equal footing with the nuclear family. The two-parent two-kids model shouldn’t be held up as the gold standard.

That’s right.
No AA male on the board of BLM and George Floyd’s family doesn’t give a shit.
No AA businessman and Breonna Taylor’s family doesn’t give a shit.
No AA pastor and Ahmaud Arbery‘s family doesn’t give a shit.
No AA athlete and Eric Garner’s family doesn’t give a shit.
No AA entertainer and Black people don’t give a shit.

Surprised?

DP. It's not "like" that, it actually is that.

Just look at what happened with metro fare evasion. We can't stop it, oh and we don't like the statistics, no worries, let's eliminate the statistics since those things aren't crimes anymore, great, much better....

We can read enough threads here on DCUM to see that even middle class white women aren’t served well by the two-parent household model as it currently exists. My FB feed is full of women quitting their jobs this week because their family lives hundreds of miles away and they don’t have childcare this fall.

Actually, when this model has been proven time and time again to lead to better outcomes for children across every single metric (academic outcomes, emotional health, physical health, poverty levels, college rates, high school graduation rates, crime rates, etc) then yes, sane people would say that it's reasonable to hold this up as the gold standard.

And being in the middle of an unprecedented GLOBAL pandemic surely doesn't have anything to do with that, right?

OP here. Absolutely not being “intentionally obtuse”. Just trying to get a better understanding before I call it out as bullsh!t. Which I now can do with a clear conscience.

A two parent household IS the gold standard - it has many many benefits. But if it warms the cockles of your heart to say that having 7 kids and 7 baby daddies is just as good, have at it. But research - and I dare say most people with a shred of common sense - disagrees with you.
