Colleges that alums always rave about

Anonymous
Texas A&M. If you've ever seen two A&M alums meet for the first time you would think they were long lost brothers.

-Not an A&M alum

Do they really? Is the alumni network strong and supportive? How about the percent of alumni giving? Just asking. (All the parent I know love it because of the in-state tuition, oh, and they were national champs last year in men's basketball)

UVA does NOT make the list.

Actually, UVA is one of the highest ranked public in giving.

Well, there you go. Loyal alumni don't necessarily correlate with major D1 athletic programs. Maybe the graduates wish they'd gotten as much attention as the one-and-done jocks.

I’ll wager that giving rates say more about alumni income than love for school.

I'll wager alumni support at many schools is largely alumni support for athletics.

I am kind of shocked about Georgetown...what are they doing with all those donations? Their endowment is pathetic.

Georgetown got a late start on it and needs to make up for lost time.

Interesting...does anyone have a link they can share? Curious about why Villanova is on list, but not BC. Also W&M, but not UVA.

Feeling really good about my DCs choice right now seeing her school in the top 5.

Lol. Have you seen the list above? With a small handful of exceptions, these are hardly sports powerhouses.

Perhaps I should have worded it differently. Many people equate alumni support with strength of support for athletic teams. But I don't think that is really an indicator of support for the academic enterprise.

This.

I know 10 alum and about 15 students there right now. THEY LOVE IT!

Never visited... just wondering if you can explain why people love it.

Go Flyers! I'm a proUD UD alum. Every time I see someone in UD garb, I ask them if they went to Dayton and when they graduated. If they are an alum, it doesn't matter if they graduated in 1962, 1982, 2002 or 2019, the person will talk to me and ask me where I lived on campus. Because it's a Catholic school, there is an emphasis on service. And the basketball team definitely unites the community. Off topic - this was our year to win the NCAA basketball tournament. Go Flyers!

Admittedly, we Michigan grads aren't ranked among the most generous donors, but I think the numbers are skewed because they don't account for sweatshirt purchases.

GO BLUE!

By the way, the diversity of the maniacal Michigan mob is pretty amazing.
