It means the girls got screwed. Arlington was offered ECRL on the girls side I bet (GA is a better choice than that, for sure) while teams that Arlington 04 and below beat handily, like VDA and BRYC, stay in ECNL.

When exactly did Arlington04 handily beat VDA04

Pre-season friendly fall 2019

I asked, “when did Arlington 04 handily beat VDA 04.” It most certainly wasn’t in the fall of 2019 because that was a 1-0 game with the winning goal coming in the last minutes by a beautiful struck ball coming from way outside the left side of the box that sailed diagonally and caught the goalie way off the line. Outside of that, it was a fairly even game with the new Arlington keeper from Spirit coming up strong. Arlington won. That’s about where the narrative should end. Arlington 04 is a good team. I was looking forward to them playing FCV 04. I had Arlington winning.

Does MU have enough 07s and 06s that the 08s and 09s wont have to play up?

Yes, the partnerships have fixed the issue with lack of young player pipeline.

How is the issue fixed?

Because they have a player pool to work with and draw talent from.

There were a few Arlington girls looking a MU before the shut down and Arlington is closer to MU practice vs Stoddert or Potomac. It just seems like the younger ages 08 and 07 are not that excited about Mclean. What’s going on with that?

Well 2008’s now have Clyde as their primary coach. Many will stay for the exposure and all have been guaranteed spots. Cant argue with Clyde’s track record as the girls get toward high school no matter how much of an ASA booster you are.

I call BS on arlington giving outside offers at this point. Many area clubs agreed to not actively recruit from each other’s
rosters during the pandemic so arlington would be flying in the face of yhat...

Difference between actively recruiting and responding to proactive inquiries though....

Not sure it would be a good look for ASA to get caught bending the rules in their favor. ASA could argue a technicality (active vs. responding) but is it really worth it to piss off other clubs enough for them to blackball from ECNL in the future for a few 07/08 players. Probably not.

Weren't people asserting that GA is a superior league? What has changed?

Bending the rules? There’s no ECNL rule that would apply to ASA, nor any DA rules since the league folded.

Unlike FCV dad, the Arlington parents were hoping for the girls’ teams to get into ECNL. They didn’t. But many parents and girls like the club, like the coaches, like the driving distance, and thing GA is a good alternative to scrambling to try to get onto a new team in the short term. So, taking the option offered and seeing what happens.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story. That’s how this ECNL propagandist operates.

Not an ECNL rule- an agreement across local DMV clubs to work ‘together’ during the pandemic . There was a press release, website and all. You can infer what you want about what it means but I question what specific ways would non affiliated local clubs from different but close by states ‘work together’ during the pandemic to ensure each others viability

I thought ECNL offers were given out also? How is this all of a sudden an Arlington issue?

You are all wrong, the game was at CASL and VDA 06 won 5-1. Pretty handy win.
