The ACLU claims that shutting down the institutions is one of its greatest achievements. It was the left and right acting together that created the current situation. I understand the issues with the institutions but am not sure that the status quo is an improvement. It is cruel. San Francisco is moving back to involuntary commitment. |
Can you share more information on this? Our Council pretty much tries to do everything the San Francisco way. |
| Could they take care of 20th outside the Peace Corp building next? A new encampment has sprung up. |
This. There’s more than enough blame to go around, and we must do better. The solutions will likely have something for everyone to dislike: more spending, more involuntary commitment, more enforcement of vagrancy laws. |
NP: So you think inviting homeless people into your house would actually solve the problems the homeless are facing? As if the only problem they need address is a bed to sleep in? If you want to have a voice in solving real problems, be helpful and get involved; don't post dribble like this. |
| Don't cry to us about the homeless problem if you are voting for people who want to get rid of all of our social safety networks. Just wait until all the elder care facilities shut down because medicaid and medicare are gone. Wave to grandma as you drive by her on the street. |
| I see so much litter along the roads. Why don’t they pay the homeless to pick it up? |
| The working girls are still out in force I see. More power to them. |
